Your opportunity
We are recruiting a Solutions Consultant to deliver New Relic solutions to our customers. We warmly welcome consultants with enthusiasm for technical sales, pre-sales engineers, or developers who have frequent opportunities to interact with customers. New Relic has a track record of transitioning technically excellent engineers into excellent Solutions Consultants, so if you have limited sales experience and are concerned about fit for this position, please rest assured. We have comprehensive onboarding training in place.
The primary responsibilities of a Solutions Consultant are to work alongside New Relic's sales team, Technical Account Managers, Technical Support Engineers, and marketing teams to propose how best-in-class New Relic solutions can be effectively leveraged for our customers' businesses, and to provide technical support to ensure customers make proper use of our excellent features.
As a Solutions Consultant at our company, you will gain insight into customer business needs and market trends by providing technical support across various industries and systems. We are seeking Solutions Consultants who possess extensive knowledge of our SaaS solution sales, understand all phases of the sales cycle, and can support field sales teams. Working with other Solutions Consultants and product teams, you will understand customer IT infrastructure and software architecture, create solutions that address customer business needs, and verify how New Relic solutions address these needs in real time.
What you'll do
- Provide New Relic consulting expertise to communicate the value of New Relic solutions to customers
- Create customer presentations that clearly articulate value relevant to New Relic solutions and customer requirements, and build and present compelling customer proof-of-concept demonstrations
- Provide event presentations, technical documentation creation, and training to promote New Relic solutions
- Collaborate with New Relic Sales, Solution Consultants, and Technical Account Managers on deal opportunities
- Adherence to core company values—being responsible, bold, authentic, enthusiastic, and consistent—is essential.
This role requires
- Experience interacting with customers through projects or sales activities, and 3+ years of experience as a Pre-sales Engineer, technical Consultant/Architect, systems operations administrator, Software Developer, or similar role
- Interest in the latest technologies and actively learning by hands-on experience
- Knowledge of and interest in application/infrastructure operations such as operational monitoring and systems management design
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- English reading and writing skills at a level sufficient to communicate with overseas team members via Slack, email, and other written channels
Bonus points if you have
- Practical hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, PHP, .NET, Ruby, Node.js, or Python
