Your Tasks

Why this position exists

Networks are the nervous system of every IT infrastructure – and they're our specialty. For customers in automotive, healthcare, software, and mid-market sectors across Baden-Württemberg, we plan and operate network, security, and voice infrastructures with a clear vendor focus: Extreme Networks, Fortinet, and Unify. As a long-standing partner of these vendors, we have direct access, top conditions, and entry to world-class training and events. That's why we're looking for you.

Important: We fill this role at the appropriate level – and you don't need to master all three vendor ecosystems. Whether your strength lies in switching and WLAN, firewalls, or voice: we'll tailor the role to your expertise and build the rest together.

Your Role – Four Focus Areas (typical distribution – your actual mix follows your focus)

Implementing Network Projects (approx. 40 %): You plan, configure, and document switching, routing, and WLAN infrastructures with Extreme Networks – including network segmentation and NAC solutions for demanding environments.

Security (approx. 25 %): You implement and operate FortiGate firewalls, SD-WAN and VPN solutions, and further develop security concepts together with our security specialists.

Operations & Troubleshooting (approx. 20 %): You monitor network infrastructures, handle incidents and problems, systematically troubleshoot across OSI layers 1–7, and automate recurring tasks.

Voice & UC (approx. 15 %): You support and migrate communication solutions based on Unify OpenScape and integrate them with modern environments like Teams telephony.

How We'll Measure Success Together After 12 Months

  • You independently implement network rollouts (switching/WLAN) – from planning to documentation
  • You've passed a vendor certification (e.g., Fortinet FCP/NSE or Extreme ECS)
  • You've co-owned a segmentation or NAC project
  • In troubleshooting, you're a reliable resource the team can count on

We'll agree on concrete goals together – depending on your entry level.

Must Haves

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience in network administration (switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls) – whether with Extreme, Fortinet, Cisco, HPE/Aruba, or other vendors. 1–2 years is enough; more is welcome
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and a structured approach to troubleshooting
  • Sense of responsibility and hands-on mentality – networks don't forgive carelessness
  • Fluent German, good English (vendor documentation), driving license class B

What we DON'T expect

  • A Cisco certification. We work with Extreme, Fortinet, and Unify – we'll build vendor certifications together, at our expense, including training and vendor events
  • Experience in all three vendor ecosystems – one is enough. Even with a pure Cisco or Aruba background, you're in the right place: networking skills are transferable, vendor knowledge we'll build together
  • Programming skills – you'll learn automation with us

We care more about where you want to go than where you come from. Motivation beats seniority.

We Offer

Your Development Path

Structured onboarding with 30- and 100-day check-ins, a personal mentor from the network team, vendor certifications (Extreme, Fortinet, Unify) paid by us including national and international vendor events, plus training from our indasys Academy. Your perspective: Senior Engineer, Network & Security Architect – or technical responsibility for our network business.

Our Top 3 Benefits

  1. Option for a 4-day week: Work 4 × 9 hours, 3 days off. Every week.
  2. Performance bonus for everyone: 50% of our monthly additional revenue goes to the team – from day one, even for newcomers.
  3. Flexible work: Home office as needed, core hours only 10–15. We'd love to see you in the office 1–2 days per week.

Plus: Social bonus (regular salary increases without negotiation), occupational pension scheme, JobRad, weekly massages during work time, 4Seasons team events, free beverages and fruit, climate-neutral office building with e-fleet and own charging stations. And if you relocate to Stuttgart for the job: our penthouse shared apartment in the office building can make your start easier.

How to Apply – in 3 Minutes

Resume or LinkedIn profile is enough. No cover letter, no certificates in the first step. We just want you to answer one question upfront:

Extreme, Fortinet, or Unify – which have you already worked with, and what do you want to learn next? (Three honest sentences are enough.)

Questions beforehand? You can reach our Talent Management by phone at 0711 896659157.
