Your Tasks

Why this position exists

Networks are the nervous system of any IT – and our specialty. For clients in the automotive, clinical, software, and SME sectors throughout Baden-Württemberg, we plan and operate network, security, and voice infrastructures with a clear focus on specific manufacturers: Extreme Networks, Fortinet, and Unify. As a long-standing partner of these manufacturers, we have a direct line, top-tier conditions, and access to first-class training and events. We are looking for you to join us.

Important: We fill this role according to your level – and you do not need to master all three manufacturer ecosystems. Whether your focus is on switching and WLAN, firewalls, or voice: We will tailor the role to your strengths and build up the rest together.

Your role – four focus areas (typical distribution – your actual mix will follow your focus)

Implementing network projects (approx. 40%): You plan, configure, and document switching, routing, and WLAN infrastructures with Extreme Networks – including network segmentation and NAC solutions for demanding environments.

Security (approx. 25%): You implement and operate FortiGate firewalls, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions and further develop security concepts in collaboration with our security specialists.

Operations & Troubleshooting (approx. 20%): You monitor network infrastructures, handle incidents and problems, troubleshoot structurally across OSI layers 1–7, and automate recurring tasks.

Voice & UC (approx. 15%): You support and migrate communication solutions based on Unify OpenScape and integrate them into modern environments like Teams telephony.

How we will measure success together after 12 months

  • You independently execute network rollouts (switching/WLAN) – from planning to documentation
  • A manufacturer certification has been passed (e.g., Fortinet FCP/NSE or Extreme ECS)
  • You have co-managed a segmentation or NAC project
  • You have become a reliable pillar in troubleshooting that the team depends on

We will agree on the concrete goals for this together – depending on your entry level.

Must Haves

What you bring

  • Practical experience in network administration (switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls) – regardless of whether with Extreme, Fortinet, Cisco, HPE/Aruba, or other manufacturers. 1–2 years is sufficient, more is welcome
  • Confident handling of TCP/IP and a structured approach to troubleshooting
  • Sense of responsibility and a hands-on mentality – networks do not forgive sloppiness
  • Business-fluent German, good English (manufacturer documentation), Class B driver's license

What we do NOT expect

  • A Cisco certificate. We work with Extreme, Fortinet, and Unify – we will build up the manufacturer certifications together, at our expense, including training and manufacturer events
  • Experience in all three manufacturer worlds – one is enough. You are also the right fit with a pure Cisco or Aruba background: Network skills are transferable, we will build up manufacturer knowledge together
  • Programming skills – you will learn automation with us

We are more interested in where you want to go than where you come from. Motivation beats seniority.

What we offer

Your development path

Structured onboarding with 30- and 100-day check-ins, a personal mentor from the network team, company-paid manufacturer certifications (Extreme, Fortinet, Unify) including national and international manufacturer events, as well as the training offerings of our indasys Academy. Your perspective: Senior Engineer, Network & Security Architect – or technical responsibility for our network business.

Our top 3 benefits

  1. Option for a 4-day week: Work 4 × 9 hours, 3 days off. Every week.
  2. Performance bonus for everyone: 50% of our monthly generated surplus goes to the team – from day one, even for newcomers.
  3. Flexible working: Home office as needed, core hours only 10 AM – 3 PM. We look forward to seeing you in the office 1–2 days per week.

Additionally: Social bonus (regular salary increases without negotiation), company pension scheme, JobRad, weekly massages during working hours, 4Seasons team events, free drinks and fruit, climate-neutral company building with an electric fleet and dedicated charging stations. And if you move to Stuttgart for the job: Our penthouse shared apartment in the company building can make your start easier.

How to apply – in 3 minutes

Resume or LinkedIn profile is sufficient. No cover letter, no certificates in the first step. We only want you to answer one question in advance:

Extreme, Fortinet, or Unify – what have you worked with, and what do you want to learn next? (Three honest sentences are enough.)

Questions in advance? You can reach our Talent Management team by phone at 0711 896659157.
