About the role
As a Sustainability and Energy Performance Engineer within our Sustainability & Clean Utilities team, you will drive the environmental and energy strategy for the Le Trait industrial site, ensuring compliance with ISO 50001 and ISO 46001 standards, while developing innovative programs to reduce our carbon footprint, optimize energy and water consumption, and support Sanofi's sustainable transition. Based at our Le Trait industrial site, you will join the Sustainability & Clean Utilities team within the Operations function. You will play a key role in the site's environmental performance, collaborating with technical, HSE, Finance, and Procurement teams, while actively contributing to the network of Sustainability correspondents across Sanofi industrial sites.

Key responsibilities

Drive ISO compliance and performance: Manage the ISO 50001 standard and build ISO 46001 on-site, ensuring rigorous monitoring of energy, water, and carbon indicators.

Develop and optimize the metering plan: Implement and improve measurement and monitoring systems for consumption to ensure the reliability of performance data.

Coordinate sustainable performance programs: Lead the site's energy, water, and carbon initiatives by identifying and deploying concrete environmental efficiency projects.

Ensure reporting and data reliability: Oversee data collection and consolidation for internal tools (Resource Advisor, Ultivision) and guarantee the quality of regulatory and internal reporting.

Regulatory monitoring and compliance: Maintain active monitoring of regulatory developments regarding the environment and energy, and ensure site practice compliance.

Raise awareness and engage teams: Develop communication and awareness programs to promote a culture of sustainability among employees and management.

Represent the site during audits: Act as a backup for the Head of Clean Utilities & Sustainability and represent the site during HSE, ISO 50001 audits, and certain quality inspections.

About you
Experience:
You have proven experience in the field of energy, thermal engineering, or industrial environment, ideally in a pharmaceutical or regulated industrial context.
Technical and interpersonal skills:
- Expertise in thermal engineering, thermodynamics, and industrial electricity
- Good knowledge of pharmaceutical and industrial utilities (purified water, steam, compressed air)
- Proficiency in ISO 50001 standards and energy management systems
- Skills in cross-functional management and multi-team project coordination
- Ability to synthesize, autonomy, responsiveness, and commitment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Curiosity, desire to learn, and to propose innovative solutions
Education:
Engineering degree in energy, thermal engineering, process engineering, or equivalent.
Languages:
Good level of English (B2 minimum) to communicate with international teams and participate in the global Sustainability network.

The salary range for this position is :€42 400,00 - €56 533
Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
