For our warehouse logistics, we are looking for Department Managers (m/f/d) in rotating shifts to join us immediately.
In this role, you are responsible for the operational management of your department as well as the professional and disciplinary leadership of your employees. Together with your team leads, you ensure smooth processes in your area.
Your work is characterized by a motivating team spirit based on appreciation, respect, and openness. Together with your team, you work on achieving daily operational goals as well as improving processes. In doing so, you identify with our leadership principles, live our values, and use both as a compass in your daily business.

Provide disciplinary and professional leadership to your employees and team leads and support their personal development. Within your department, you are responsible for all operational and personnel decisions.

Report key performance indicators to Operations Management and initiate effective countermeasures if target deviations are foreseeable. Using efficient management tools, you meet productivity targets and avoid process errors as well as operational losses.

Monitor the implementation of health and safety standards and promote this culture on-site by leading by example.

Work closely with other departments (HR, Purchasing, Facilities, Security, Finance, IT) to ensure smooth operations in all areas.

Contribute your own ideas and positively support process changes so that we can become even more efficient.

Be a contact person and leadership figure for your department and create a positive working climate in which your team enjoys working and mastering their tasks. Through strong stakeholder management, you win over internal and external partners and purposefully contribute your expertise and experience.
WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF...

You have completed a degree or comparable training and have several years of professional and ideally initial disciplinary leadership experience with more than 20 industrial employees. Based on your knowledge of labor law and the Works Constitution Act, you act independently within the legal framework.

You are prepared to work in rotating shifts on 5 days between Monday and Saturday.

You have strong communication skills and the ability to motivate your team. With your confident demeanor and assertiveness, you remain calm even in challenging situations.

With your good sense for logistics processes, you implement requirements quickly and efficiently and lead your team to success. You recognize process dependencies throughout the logistics center and can implement suitable measures within the framework of workflow management to fulfill our customers' wishes.

You use operational key figures as a controlling instrument and identify untapped potential. You use your analytical skills purposefully to avoid operational losses and make processes even more efficient.

You bring solid knowledge of occupational health and safety and share your ideas for possible improvements in the workplace. You see yourself as a leader who drives innovation and shares future visions with superiors.

With your good rhetorical skills, you pass on your knowledge in an understandable, sustainable way that is adapted to the knowledge level of your colleagues. Your good German skills at C2 level as well as English skills at B2 level facilitate communication within the team.

LOCATION: Lahr
Our employees in logistics ensure that more than 50 million customers in 25 European markets receive smooth and reliable service every day. Today, Zalando has a growing European logistics network with currently twelve locations in seven countries. In Germany alone, thousands of employees from over 100 nations work at several Zalando logistics locations.
The logistics center in Lahr in the Black Forest is the youngest of our German locations. The 130,000-square-meter building sets new standards for the industry and combines state-of-the-art infrastructure with intelligent thinking and great team cohesion.
We shipped our first package from the Black Forest location in 2016 and offer jobs for around 2,500 colleagues. In addition to entry-level opportunities in warehouse logistics, we are also looking for interested candidates in administration and technical departments in Lahr.
