Job description
We are looking for a junior Business Analyst to join a team working at the heart of the Equity / Equity Derivatives business, in an international and demanding environment.
You will work primarily on SOPHIS, a leading market finance software package, in contact with Front Office users and IT teams.
Your role
Within the team, you will take part in the development and smooth operation of the tools used in the Equity activities:
- Gather and analyse the needs of Front Office users;
- Write statements of requirements and functional specifications;
- Take part in designing solutions with the IT teams;
- Understand and challenge issues related to the product and trade lifecycle;
- Prepare test plans and test cases, then carry out functional and integration acceptance testing;
- Analyse incidents and support users;
- Take part in production monitoring and developments of the SOPHIS software package;
- Interact with the various teams across the Front-to-Back-to-Risk chain.
Professional English, both spoken and written, is essential, in an international context.
Why this opportunity?
Because it can be a real accelerator early in your career: you will build expertise in Front Office Equity activities, understand a complex market IT chain and grow your skills in SOPHIS, while working alongside experienced business and IT teams.
This is a great opportunity for a profile that already has the fundamentals of market finance and wants to gradually become a specialised Front Office BA.
Qualifications
You hold a Bac+5 degree (engineering school or Master's in computer science).
We are mainly interested in your understanding of market finance and your ability to bridge business and IT.
You have 1 to 3 years of experience, including work-study, and your background may be varied:
Business Analyst / Project Management (MOA), Front Office Support, or developer wishing to move towards a more functional role.
You know several asset classes and have a good grounding in financial products. Knowledge of Equity / Equity Derivatives is desirable.
You are comfortable writing functional specifications and understand the interactions between applications and information systems.
Knowledge of SQL is mandatory.
Knowledge of SOPHIS is not essential but is an advantage.
Additional information
- Tailored career paths (career development, adapted training, mentoring…);
- The choice of your assignment and personalised support throughout your career;
- An environment that promotes learning: certifying training, e-learning, meetUps, coding competitions, career development paths, etc.;
- Be part of expert communities who share their knowledge and experience within our competence centres;
- A friendly environment with many social events (annual party, seminars & team building, lunches and afterworks…);
Your differences are our strengths. That is why Meritis is committed to diversity and non-discrimination. All our jobs are accessible to people with disabilities. If you have a question or believe you are a victim or witness of discrimination, you can contact [email protected] .
