How you make an impact
As a Software Engineer, you build new features and improve existing code. You contribute to technical decisions and work with your team to create a stable, secure, and future-proof product.
You work on things like:
- New features for talent management and onboarding.
- Tooling that makes recovery work in the cloud smarter and faster.
- Integrations with external systems, such as webshops.
- Security improvements, for example passkey login methods.
You code, review, and test. You share your knowledge within your team and with the entire developer group. This way we stay sharp together and grow technically.
Schedule:
At AFAS we work 32 hours per week, spread over four days. Friday is our development day. On this day you can spend time on yourself, but especially on others. Read more about the four-day work week and development day.
How you grow as a Software Engineer
You start at your level. Whether you're a starter or already have experience: you get the space to grow in a way that suits you.
- Are you a starter?
Then you receive guidance from experienced colleagues, work together on tickets, and gradually get to know our codebase. You grow in independence and technical depth.
- Do you already have experience?
Then you take on independent work more quickly, contribute to technical solutions, and help colleagues further with your knowledge and experience.
In both cases: we look at what you can do, want to learn, and what energizes you.
What does development look like at AFAS
At AFAS, more than 150 enthusiastic people work on our software, from documentalist and developer to designer and product manager. Our 70+ developers are spread across different teams and work together on different projects and with different technologies.
We have developed our own front- and backend frameworks, which we use for all our new developments. As a software engineer, you help build one product that is used daily by more than 3 million users.
