About Yoko Co
What is Yoko Co?
Yoko Co is a web agency that only works with mission-driven organizations — healthcare nonprofits, associations, purpose-led companies — building websites that move their causes forward. Founded in 2009 and based out of McLean, Virginia with a fully remote team of around 37, it has spent fifteen years proving that a small agency can do meaningful work without grinding its people down, and offsets its carbon footprint while it's at it.
Where will I work?
From home — the team is remote across the United States, hiring in "full-time, part-time, or contract varieties" depending on what works for the candidate. Roles are posted on Yoko Co's own careers site.
What is the Yoko Co team like?
Thirty-something designers, developers, strategists and project leads who chose client work with a conscience. The careers page is refreshingly plain-spoken about what working there is actually like — including who shouldn't apply.
Work-Life Balance
The time-off policy is stated in the company's own voice, verbatim: "Unlimited vacation. Unlimited sick leave. As long as your work isn't negatively impacted, you're free to take that week-long trip to the World Bagpipe Championships." And the floor is real, not theoretical: "We take off all federal holidays, most of the week of Thanksgiving and TWO WEEKS(!!!) at the end of the year." — a genuine year-end shutdown on top of the unlimited policy.
