What is Workskil Australia?
Workskil Australia is "a national not-for-profit employment services provider and registered charity committed to building better lives". It helps people into work and training, supporting them past barriers such as "education, employment, housing, health and inclusion", and delivers employment, work experience, disability, youth, Indigenous and community services. "From humble beginnings in 1982, we've grown to become one of Australia's largest and most trusted providers of employment and community services, supporting more than 60,000 individuals each year." As a public benevolent institution it can offer staff tax-effective salary packaging.
Where will I work?
At one of Workskil's sites. "Today, we employ more than 850 staff across 50+ locations", with head office in Melrose Park, South Australia. It delivers services across New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria, and supports participants in the Northern Territory Department of Corrections' Ready to Work program. This is site-based, face-to-face work with job seekers, employers and communities, and base sites are sometimes negotiable between nearby locations.

Workskil says its values remain "at the heart of everything we do and we strive to conduct our business with the highest degree of care, integrity, respect, honesty and service". It is "recognised as an Inclusive Employer by Diversity Council Australia", and it promotes from within: "Most of our job vacancies are promoted internally before becoming available to the public." Leadership training prepares aspiring leaders for future leadership positions, and new Employment Coaches receive comprehensive training and help to achieve a Certificate IV in Community Services within their first 12 months.
Work-Life Balance
Workskil's schedule benefit is the Wellbeing Day: "Full-time staff enjoy a day off each fortnight while accruing full-time wages, superannuation, and leave entitlements." Its adverts spell it out: "working a 9-day fortnight, with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week. You will still receive the remuneration of a full time employee". Workskil does not publish its standard weekly hours, so we make no claim about total hours — only that full-time staff get a fixed day off every second week on full-time pay. Part-time staff instead receive loyalty leave, an extra week of annual leave (pro rata) after three years. Not every Workskil advert mentions the Wellbeing Day — its Northern Territory Ready to Work roles, for example, don't — so confirm it on the advert itself.
