About Westernacher Consulting
What is Westernacher Consulting?
Westernacher Consulting is a business and SAP consulting company. Its About page says it was "Founded in Karlsruhe in 1969, Westernacher Consulting (headquartered in Heidelberg) is now active in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America." The same page puts the team at "more than 1,400 consultants worldwide in process and SAP consulting, design, and implementation of complex IT systems". The company is a delivery consultancy rather than a staffing firm: the live adverts ask architects to "Own key solution decisions across SAP EWM projects, from requirements and design through configuration, testing and implementation", to advise senior customer stakeholders and to contribute to pre-sales work such as proposals and workshops. Its adverts also describe it as an SAP Gold Partner, and its site lists services such as SAP S/4HANA migration, implementation and project management, application management and international SAP rollouts.
Where will I work?
The legal entity is Westernacher Consulting GmbH in Heidelberg, Germany, and the live job board on 5 November 2026 listed 89 adverts in 20 countries. Roles sit in Heidelberg, Vienna, Zürich, Barcelona, Milan, Athens, Sofia, Cluj-Napoca, Odense, Gothenburg and Sopot in Europe, in Bangalore, Tokyo, Shanghai, Manila and Malaysia in Asia, in Dallas, Boston and Illinois in the United States, plus Mexico City, Costa Rica and Melbourne. The adverts describe "a hybrid working model" without giving a number of office days. The Romania adverts add "Remote working options within Romania", and the Bulgaria advert mentions a "Convenient office location close to the metro and Free Parking". As in most SAP consulting, the roles come with project travel: the Spanish architect advert asks for "Availability to travel when required by project needs", the Mexico adverts state a travel share of about 40% to 60% to client sites, and the two US Director of Sales adverts state "Travel: 50-80%".
What is the Westernacher Consulting team like?
Westernacher says it is "100% employee owned", and its Values page explains that "All of our stock is owned by hundreds of our employees." The adverts describe a "Partnership culture", a flat structure and "Supportive international teams built on collaboration, trust and open communication". The Spanish adverts promise colleagues in "a low-hierarchy working environment". Most open roles are for experienced people: the SAP EWM architect advert asks for 9+ years of experience, the Senior TM Consultant advert for 5 to 7 years, while the AI Data Scientist advert asks for 2 to 4 years. The Careers page also speaks to students and young professionals, who are given "a coach and a buddy" when they start and structured technical and non-technical training in the first few months. The board on 5 November 2026 covers SAP EWM, transportation management, finance (FI/CO), sales and distribution and master data consultants, practice directors, project managers, sales directors, cloud and infrastructure consultants, a backend developer and an AI data scientist.
Work-Life Balance
Westernacher's own Social & People Impact page says: "A work-life balance is important to us, and we pay attention to high flexibility, commitment and enthusiasm." The concrete hours wording sits in the adverts: "Flexible working hours and a hybrid working model" is listed under why to join in 52 of the 89 live adverts. It appears in Germany, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Sweden, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United States and Australia, and in roles as different as SAP architect, project manager, sales director, practice director, backend developer and AI data scientist. In Spain the wording is "Benefit from flexible working hours and a hybrid working model". No adverts state core hours, a weekly-hours figure or a number of office days, so ask at interview how this works in your practice and how project travel fits around it. Paid leave is stated only in some countries: "25+ days paid leave" in the Bulgaria and Greece adverts and "25 days of paid leave" in the Romania advert.
