What is WebStrategies (now Geear)?
WebStrategies is a Midlothian, Virginia-based digital marketing agency and HubSpot Diamond Partner that rebranded to Geear in August 2025 — the same legal entity, the same Midlothian team, with a new name reflecting its values. Geear is an acronym: growth, essentialism, empathy, accountability and doing what's right. CEO Chris Leone explained the renaming to Richmond BizSense: the five values had been pinned to the wall on Post-it notes since 2017, and "if we move this around, suddenly it spells Geear."
Founded in 2004 by Neal Lappe, the company began as a web development shop and grew into a HubSpot Diamond Partner agency specialising in credit unions, community banks and business-to-business manufacturing. Where will I work?
Geear is fully remote. The careers page is explicit: "while we're fully remote, we're anything but disconnected." The Midlothian office address (14241 Midlothian Turnpike, Suite 306, Midlothian VA 23113) remains the legal HQ, and the company runs a bi-annual in-person retreat in Richmond, VA for the whole team.

The team is described on the careers page as "a team of 50 smart, driven people who care deeply about what we do and how we treat each other." The culture is "curious, adaptable, and future-focused," with an explicit commitment to embracing AI in everyday work: "Not to replace what we do best, but to amplify it.
