Wealthsimple is a Toronto-headquartered financial company whose mission, in its own words, "is to help everyone achieve financial freedom by making simple, smart, and affordable financial products for everyone." It offers "a full suite of simple, sophisticated financial products across managed investing, do-it-yourself trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, spending and saving", and calls itself "Canada's leading financial innovator". The company "was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs", has raised "investment rounds totalling more than $1.1 billion", and administers over a hundred billion dollars in assets for millions of Canadian clients.
Where will I work?
Wealthsimple is a hybrid company: "We are a hybrid team with over 1,500 employees across North America." Its published model is specific about when in-person matters. "Our Toronto HQ is our central hub for big onsites, connection, and collaborative work"; "Our hubs in Calgary, Vancouver, NYC and San Francisco are coworking spaces, created where demand exists"; "We host team takeovers 2 to 4 times a year, where teams gather in person for strategy, problem solving, and learning"; and "R&D teams gather for Go! Days every 6 weeks to connect and ship faster." Some roles are advertised as remote within Canada while others - notably events and operations roles - are explicitly Toronto-based and office-attending, so read the posting carefully.

Time off is published on every job ad: "20 vacation days, 4 wellness days, and unlimited sick and mental health days per year." Vacation itself is a fixed allowance - it is the sick and mental-health days that are uncapped. The standout flexibility perk is "90 days away: work outside Canada for up to 90 days per year". Focus time is protected structurally, through "interruption-free days" and Build Days that "carve out regular time for deep, focused work". Parental leave is offered with top-up compensation, though the company does not publish the length or the top-up percentage.
