What is Thinking Machines Lab?
Thinking Machines Lab is a frontier AI research and product company founded in 2024 by Mira Murati (former OpenAI CTO) along with senior alums from OpenAI, Meta, and DeepMind. The lab is focused on building safer, more reliable, and more capable AI systems — with a particular emphasis on multimodal AI, alignment research, and applied science.
In 2025 the company raised one of the largest seed rounds in history at a $12B valuation.
Where will I work?
San Francisco — primarily on-site with some hybrid flexibility.
