About Ben
What is Ben?
Ben is a London employee-benefits platform that lets employers design, manage and scale benefits globally from a single platform. Its modules cover flexible spending allowances, enrolment and benefits management, rewards and recognition, total reward statements and benefits communication. "Global benefits are complex by design — multiple markets, shifting regulations, numerous providers, and disconnected workflows," the company says. "Legacy systems were never built for this reality." Co-founders Sebastian Fallert, who "had previously built and sold travel app JustBook Mobile to Secret Escapes", and David Duckworth, "who spent years in financial services at HSBC and Monitor Deloitte", started Ben in 2019 with "the same realisation from two different perspectives: the benefits system is fundamentally broken." Ben now manages "tens of millions in benefits spend across more than 140 countries", and its customers include Virgin, Trainline, Octopus Energy, Deliveroo, Mondelez and Zalando. In December 2025 it raised a $27.5m (£20.8m) Series B led by Mercia Ventures, with Atomico, Cherry Ventures, DN Capital, Seedcamp and QuantumLight Capital, after growing its revenue "more than tenfold" since its previous round. It calls itself "the world's first AI-native intelligent benefits platform".
Where will I work?
In London, on a hybrid pattern. All seven roles on Ben's jobs board in September 2026 are hybrid and based in London, and the company describes itself as "a predominantly hybrid workforce". The Fullstack Engineer posting sets the rhythm at "2 days a week with the team in our Barbican office"; the other postings don't specify. Ben opened its first London office in 2021, funds a weekly lunch for the in-office team and hosts "an after-work get together at our London office every other Thursday." Staff can also "work from abroad for a limited time each year, allowing you to travel or spend time with loved ones." Ben marks several of its benefits "UK only"; this profile describes the UK offer.
What is the Ben team like?
Ben's 2024 accounts report an average of 112 employees, up from 71 in 2023, across operations, sales and marketing, product and engineering, and administration; the company now describes "a team of over 100 people". Its careers page charts the growth: 10 employees in 2020, when the Ben card went live, 46 employees and a $16M Series A in 2022, and over 50,000 users by 2023. Ben says it is "building a culture that encourages cross-team collaboration, socialising and a sense of inclusion & belonging for all our employees." Teams get quarterly social budgets, the weekly lunch is "Provided in office and to remote teams", and there are breakfast-and-learn sessions with internal and external speakers, employee-led clubs "from book club to running club and climbing club", and Ben Buddies, which uses a Slackbot to pair colleagues at random for a funded coffee or lunch. The seven open roles are a Senior Technical Account Manager, a Bid Manager, a GTM Engineer, a Fullstack Engineer (Backend leaning), a Software Engineer (Data), a Chief of Staff and a Head of AI Operations. Of its own benefits, Ben says: "It's really important that we practice what we preach."
Work-Life Balance
UK postings offer "28 days of holidays a year plus bank holidays", and the allowance increases "to 30 days at your 3rd year of service". With England's eight bank holidays that is 36 days off a year, or 38 from the third year. Staff can also buy or sell holiday: the benefits page allows "up to 5 days of holiday each year", as do most postings, though the Chief of Staff and Head of AI Operations postings say two. At five years a Ben Break adds "1 week paid leave" and a £200 travel award. Ben funds mental health support through Oliva, "with 6 sessions funded by Ben each year", and gives three days of paid study leave a year. Parental leave is enhanced: "dependent on tenure, up to 18 weeks paid for birthing parents or those taking primary parental leave, and up to 8 weeks paid for those taking supporting parental leave". Staff undergoing assisted reproduction get "up to 3 days paid leave per treatment cycle".
