About Techland
What is Techland?
Techland is a Polish video game developer and publisher. Its adverts describe it as "one of the biggest video game companies in Poland, with over 30 years of experience in the gaming industry" and as "known for creating iconic franchises like Call of Juarez and the zombie genre-defining Dying Light, which has been played by over 45 million players worldwide". The About page dates the company to 1991 ("1991 Techland is founded. We start as a software distribution company.") and lists its releases from Crime Cities in 2000 to Dying Light: The Beast in 2025. Techland S.A. is registered in Wrocław; the company announced on 24 July 2023 that Tencent was becoming its majority shareholder, and Wikipedia records a report of 10 January 2024 that Tencent had completed the acquisition of a controlling stake. On 6 November 2026 every advert said the studios in Wrocław and Warsaw hold "an international team of more than 500 talented professionals".
Where will I work?
The company details page gives the seat as "Techland S.A. with its seat in Wrocław, address: ul. Jana Szczyrki 11, 54-426 Wrocław, Poland". All 26 adverts open on 6 November 2026 are in Poland, and each of the 13 roles is posted twice, once for Wrocław and once for Warsaw. The adverts describe "State-of-the-art offices filled with chillout zones, a fully equipped kitchen, a gym (Wrocław office), and a free car park (Warsaw limited amount of space)." The careers page presents both cities and offers a relocation package for people moving to Poland: "you get a relocation package including all formalities, tickets and a place to start living." The careers page states no remote or hybrid policy, but the Work Model field on Techland's own job pages reads "onsite / hybrid" for 8 of the 13 roles, "onsite" for 4 and "remote / onsite / hybrid" for the Business Development Director. In July 2024 the Polish press (ppe.pl and android.com.pl, citing CD-Action) quoted a Techland statement that remote work stays available but most roles move to a hybrid model or a fixed presence at one of the studios.
What is the Techland team like?
The open roles are game-development and studio roles: level, quest and game designers, a level artist, cinematic and gameplay animators, animation and game programmers, a Polish-language writer, a marketing director, business development roles and an outsourcing and procurement manager. The Quest Designer advert describes work in an interdisciplinary team, "Stepping into the shoes of a quest owner working in an interdisciplinary quest strike team", with level design, level art, open world, animation, audio and quality assurance, built in Techland's proprietary C-Engine. The careers page says "We expect people to aim high. But we don't expect them to get there alone." and that a team of mentors shares knowledge in regular workshops. Social life includes company parties, GameJams, meetups, sport groups and charity events, and some adverts offer "A dedicated Buddy who will support you in your daily tasks."
Work-Life Balance
The careers page states the policy at company level: "We want people to be effective and creative so we're reasonable and flexible when it comes to working hours. It's about pushing projects forward, not staring blankly at your desk." All 26 adverts, across art, design, programming, writing, marketing, business development and procurement roles, repeat it in the benefits: "An outstanding work atmosphere in a highly-skilled team of professionals, with flexible working hours, no dress code, and full support of the dedicated HR Business Partner." No core-hours window, weekly-hours figure or annual-leave number is stated on the careers page or in the adverts, so the flexibility described is over working hours, not a shorter week. The adverts add "extra two paid days for training and CSR".
