About Supporting Strategies
Who We Are
Supporting Strategies is a fully remote outsourced bookkeeping and financial-operations firm, founded in 2004 by Leslie Jorgensen to solve her own work-life-balance problem and now powered by a community of more than 700 financial-operations professionals across more than 100 offices in the United States. The brand has been recognised as one of the Top 100 Companies to Watch for Remote Work and as a Certified Age Friendly Employer™ by The Age Friendly Institute — both reflecting the firm's intentional positioning around flexible, experienced talent.
What We Do
Supporting Strategies empowers small to mid-sized business owners by taking accounting and operational support functions off their plates. The firm's professionals use a cloud-based platform, virtual infrastructure and proven processes to deliver outsourced bookkeeping, controller services and back-office support — across multiple verticals including law firms, healthcare practices and nonprofits. Supporting Strategies is intentionally not a CPA firm; its focus is on the full-cycle accounting, transactional and operational work that underpins growing businesses.
Where Will I Work?
100% remote, from your own home office, since 2004 — long before the pandemic. The firm's technical support team continually upgrades the cloud-based tooling, and every new joiner receives a laptop, software, a dedicated VoIP business phone number and a web-meeting account on day one. The "no commute, no 9-to-5, no office politics" framing is verbatim from the careers page.
What is the Supporting Strategies Team Like?
Equity, inclusion and collaboration sit at the centre of the culture, and the company has built infrastructure that supports it: Supporting Strategies University is a 24/7 online knowledge base for ongoing learning; personalised onboarding and tech support make remote-first hires productive quickly. The firm is paperless and openly discusses its carbon-offset programme as a defining trait of how it runs.
