About StructureIt

What is StructureIt?

StructureIt is an independent technology consultancy that has been building software since 2006, mostly for structured credit and capital markets clients. Its About page says the team has implemented over 135 start-to-finish projects and counts 90+ employees (read on 7 November 2026). The Delivering Solutions page describes project-based engagements: each one is scoped with "a clear objective, a timeframe, and a fixed cost" and adds "No open-ended retainers". The work covers business analysis, solution architecture, UX design, applied AI, bespoke application development and data engineering. StructureIt Ltd is registered in the United Kingdom (company number 5541919), and the About page places its CEO, three Portfolio Heads and its Head of People in South Africa, and its CTO, its Chief Finance, Risk & Operations Officer and a co-founder in the UK.

Where will I work?

The website lists staffed offices in Cape Town (Rondebosch) and Johannesburg (Bryanston), with people in London, New York and Wellington working remotely; the employee handbook adds an office in Moka, Mauritius. That handbook, which the company publishes openly, describes a hybrid model that is "predominantly remote", with no fixed company mandate: the decision of when and where to meet is made at team level. The South African adverts live on 7 November 2026 offer "Fully remote working / or from the office with daily lunch", and the careers page lists the developer role as "Remote – Anywhere, in South Africa (Hybrid)". Anyone working from home in South Africa needs backup power for load shedding or another location that has it, and the company offers loan assistance for a home office. Staff can also temporarily relocate to another country for up to 90 days a year, provided the team can accommodate the new time zone and working hours and the employee covers visa and immigration costs.

What is the StructureIt team like?

The Life at StructureIt page describes a "diverse, smart, humble and laid-back team" and says the firm is "allergic to egos, cruisers and unnecessary process". The stated values are Curiosity, Can-do, Accountability, Simplicity, Communication and Wellbeing. The home page says the firm hires senior people only, and the engineering adverts expect seven years of experience, client-facing delivery and daily use of AI coding tools within an approved toolset. A Delivery Lead role owns scope, quality, timeline and budget for client engagements. The hiring process described on the careers page runs from an online application with short screening questions through a phone pre-screen, a take-home, online or pairing assessment, a face-to-face or Zoom interview and a culture-fit interview, followed by employment checks.

Work-Life Balance

The Life at StructureIt page, part of the careers section, says: "We also believe in flexible hours and work spaces, so you can get things done in your way." Three adverts, covering software engineering and delivery management, list "Flexible working hours" as a benefit next to remote or office working. The handbook ties its flexible home-and-office set-up to "our belief in balanced work/life integration", and the Wellbeing value talks about life outside of work. It is also candid that, with offices and clients across time zones and production systems that must be available around the clock, "there may be times when you need to join calls or do some support work outside of your normal hours". No core hours are published. The South African adverts state 20 days of annual leave, with three more days a year after five years of service, plus separate days for study, family responsibility, conferences, moving house and volunteering. Review-site work-life balance ratings could not be read (Glassdoor and Indeed refused automated access), so none is quoted here.
