About Southern New Hampshire University

What is SNHU?

Southern New Hampshire University says its story "is one of transformation": it "began as a two-room accounting school in Manchester, New Hampshire, in 1932. When enrollments outnumbered seats, we built a 300-acre campus. And in 1995, we took our mission global through online programs." Its about page calls it "a private, nonprofit, accredited institution with more than 3,000 on campus students and over 200,000 online students", offering "over 200 programs, from certificates to doctoral level degrees". Its mission is to transform "lives by expanding access to education through high-quality, workforce relevant, and meaningful learning experiences."

Its jobs site says SNHU's benefits and remote roles "have attracted over 13,000 employees", and that it has been "voted a Great College to Work For™ by our employees every year since its inception", ranked "1st among 91 organizations at the 2026 Training MVP Awards" and was named one of Forbes’ "Best Employers for Women" in 2026.

Where will I work?

Headquarters are at 2500 North River Road in Manchester, New Hampshire, on a 300-acre campus with a downtown office. Its flexible-work page offers three ways to work: "Work from home" with "remote roles available in over 30 states", "Commute to Manchester" on campus or in the downtown office, or "Do a little of both". On 2026-10-08 its remote full-time postings were an Information Security Analyst III, an IAM Engineer, a Senior Financial Analyst and a University Privacy Officer. Each remote posting names the states employees can work from (36 that day) and says they "must reside in, and work from, one of the above approved states", with a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.

What is the SNHU team like?

Its culture page describes "a culture of care": "putting people first", "knowing you can lean on your team for help" and "not worrying about taking time for a doctor’s appointment and knowing you don’t have to check your email after hours." It offers leadership programs, career coaching and "funds for professional development of your choice", paid time for volunteering and Global Days of Service, and employee resource groups. Its flexible-work page says "work-life balance isn’t just a benefit at SNHU — it’s part of our culture."

Work-Life Balance

Every full-time posting lists "5 weeks of paid time off (plus almost a dozen paid holidays)", and the benefits page adds "holidays and wellbeing hours at your disposal", which comes to at least 35 days off a year counting the ten US federal holidays. The flexible-work page says "You’ll get 5 weeks of PTO and be encouraged to use it (without thinking twice)." Benefits for staff inside and outside New England are set out in separate summaries, and benefits apply to full-time staff; its student, coaching and adjunct postings are part-time.
