About SoFi
What is SoFi?
SoFi is a next-generation financial services company and national bank on a clear mission: to "help people achieve financial independence to realize their ambitions." Founded in 2011 and publicly traded on the NASDAQ (SOFI), SoFi uses innovative, mobile-first technology to help its millions of members borrow, save, spend, invest and protect their money — all in one app. In SoFi's own words, the team is "changing the way people think about and interact with personal finance," spanning lending (personal, student and home loans), banking and investing. The industry is "going through an unprecedented transformation," and SoFi is building at the forefront of it, with core values guiding the company every step of the way.
Where will I work?
SoFi offers "flexible schedules for all employees, including a hybrid in-office/work-from-home environment." The company is headquartered in San Francisco, with major hubs across the United States including New York City, Seattle, Frisco (TX), Charlotte (NC), Jacksonville (FL) and Cottonwood Heights (UT). Most roles are anchored to one of these offices on a hybrid basis, so you'll get a blend of in-person collaboration and remote flexibility. (Note: due to insurance coverage, SoFi cannot currently accommodate remote work from Hawaii or Alaska.)
What is the SoFi team like?
SoFi people are builders who care about impact. As the team puts it, "We're proud to come to work every day knowing that what we do has a direct impact on people's lives." You'll work in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment alongside engineers, product managers, data scientists, designers, and risk, compliance and operations partners — cross-functional collaboration is the norm. The culture is captured in "The SoFi Way," described internally as "a place where innovation and collaboration happen naturally and our people can thrive." Expect high standards, strong ownership and a genuine sense of mission.
Work-Life Balance
SoFi backs flexibility with real policies. The company runs "SoFi Fridays (early release for exempt employees)" — encouraging people to sign off early and recharge heading into the weekend. Time off is generous: a "Flexible vacation policy for exempt employees," "Generous vacation and sick time for non-exempt employees," paid holidays, and "16 hours of paid volunteer time annually." Wellbeing is taken seriously too, with "Mental health support, including free coaching and therapy sessions," access to mental health apps, and an Employee Assistance Program.
Perks and Benefits
SoFi's benefits are designed to support employees across health, wealth and life. Highlights include "Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave," a "401(k) plan, featuring employer matching up to $1,500 annually," an "Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)," and comprehensive "Medical plans with options for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)." There's "Company-paid life insurance" and "Company-paid Short-term and Long-Term Disability," plus "Support for family planning including fertility, adoption, and parenting resources" and "Subsidized backup childcare and eldercare." For growth, SoFi offers "Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 per year ($25,000 lifetime)" and LinkedIn Learning.
