What is ShortPoint?
ShortPoint makes design software for company intranets. It installs as an extension inside Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams and lets organisations build intranet sites "from scratch with no coding, at minimum cost, and in record time", with templates, page and theme builders, integrations and AI-powered accessibility tools. The company started in 2013 and says more than 1,500 customers in 86 countries now use it, across 350,000+ intranet sites and 12 million users. Chief executive Sami AlSayyed and chief technology officer Anas Nakawa sit on its board alongside Julien Plouzeau, a partner at Oraseya Capital and Dtec Ventures. ShortPoint is certified as a Great Place to Work and was ranked #4 of 15 Best Workplaces in Technology in the GCC.
Where will I work?
Remotely. ShortPoint calls itself "a globally distributed and remote-first company", and its careers page says: "We have employees who work out of Ukraine, Romania, Turkey, Nigeria, Cameroon, the Philippines, the USA, and UAE just to name a few." It keeps regional offices in Dubai — its published address, at Dubai Silicon Oasis — and in Lviv, Ann Arbor and London, but all three current openings are remote. Each lists a dozen or so countries it can hire in, mostly across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, North Africa, Türkiye and the Philippines, and the product manager posting asks for "reasonable overlap with the team".
What is the ShortPoint team like?
Small and international. Its about page introduces three dozen staff across product, design, engineering, quality assurance, support, sales and content, plus a mascot, Kevin the Bear. "Talent is the core of every great company," it says; "we believe in an environment of growth where employees have access to incredible opportunities, regardless of where they live." The careers page counts 1.4 million Slack messages among its numbers, and the company holds annual meetups and team-building events and welcomes new hires with gift boxes. Current roles lean hard on AI: the product manager posting asks for hands-on experience with Claude and AI-assisted mockups, and the senior React engineer is expected to work "AI-augmented" across code generation, review and testing. ShortPoint is also building a padel community across the UAE, Jordan and Egypt, and is hiring a part-time coordinator for it.
Work-Life Balance
ShortPoint works a four-day week. "Who says it has to be 5?" asks its careers page. "We do four days of full productivity and finish expected deliverables with no adjustments, then get to dial down and relax in the next three days with friends and family. This is the ShortPoint work-week." The current product manager posting sums up the job as "Fully remote, 4-day week, Great Place to Work certified." ShortPoint does not publish daily or weekly hours, and "no adjustments" to deliverables suggests the week's work is compressed into four days rather than cut, so we list it as a compressed week. Around the three-day weekends come 30 days of paid annual leave, 15 paid public holidays, 60 hours a year of personal time and unlimited paid sick days.
