About Sereact

What is Sereact?

Sereact GmbH is a Stuttgart-based company that describes itself as "a pioneer in embodied AI for robotics, empowering robots to sense, reason, and act within their environment and support humans in everyday activities". The University of Stuttgart says its alumni Ralf Gulde and Marc Tuscher founded it in 2021, that it now has "more than 100 employees in Europe and the United States", and quotes Gulde: "We don't build robots; we give them a brain". Sereact's own Series B announcement says the company "has raised a $110 million Series B round led by Headline" and "opens its first US office in Boston", with "200+ Sereact systems live across Europe". The site lists products for picking, putwall sorting, vision, returns handling and humanoids, all built on its Cortex model, and names customers such as Daimler Truck, Material Bank and Ludwig Meister. The live Ashby board has 43 roles: Engineering (10), G2M (8), Software (6), Leadership (6), Business Operations (5), Operations (5) and Product & Design (3).

Where will I work?

The company site names "Germany - European HQ" at Schockenriedstraße 17 in Stuttgart, an office in Schlieren near Zurich, and "Boston - North American HQ". Of the 43 adverts, 29 are in Stuttgart, 5 are listed as Germany, 5 in Boston, 2 in Zurich, 1 in the United States and 1 in London. Sixteen adverts list an "Option to work from home when needed" next to the flexible hours, two go-to-market adverts say "Remote or hybrid from the Stuttgart area", and the Solutions Manager advert says "Remote-first culture: Work from anywhere, with regular team meetings at our office in Stuttgart." Interviews include an on-site visit. Some roles travel: the partner manager advert says "approx. 50% on-the-road travel required", and deployment engineers have "Accommodation, meals and travel fully covered on deployment".

What is the Sereact team like?

The careers page lists "Dynamic team", "Team events", "Creative work" and "Freshly cooked meals" as standard benefits. Employees quoted on it describe "The speed and collaborative culture at Sereact offer extreme growth potential" and a path "from research and development all the way to deployment". The adverts promise "A motivated team and an open corporate culture", and the strategy and execution internship advert adds "a culture of ownership and continuous learning". Office perks in the adverts include "Free snacks, drinks, lunch and dinner in the office". The hiring process in the adverts is a take-home assignment, a cultural fit interview, a technical fit interview and an on-site visit where candidates also meet a founder. The Robotics Support Lead advert describes a "fast-paced, robotics-driven environment".

Work-Life Balance

"Flexible working hours" is listed under "WHAT WE OFFER" in 23 English adverts, the three German-language adverts (electronics technician, mechanic and mechatronics technician, logistics generalist) say "Flexible Arbeitszeiten", and three go-to-market adverts say you can "plan your own working day" or "design your own working day". In total 29 of the 43 adverts carry the wording, across six of the seven departments, including 20 of the 29 Stuttgart adverts and all five Germany-listed adverts. The careers page lists "Flexible working" among its standard benefits. No core hours are stated. None of the six Leadership adverts carries it: three say "Flexible PTO and a collaborative, high-ownership culture" instead and three list no flexibility wording. Four of the five Boston adverts carry no hours wording either. The Boston Senior Support Engineer advert says "Participate in an on-call support rotation for critical customer issues." For time off, the Boston adverts state "20 days paid time off", "Parental leave" and "Paid sick leave"; the Stuttgart, Zurich and London adverts publish no leave figures.
