About Sage
What is Sage?
Sage is a global leader in business-management software, building accounting, HR, payroll, and ERP tools that power millions of small and medium businesses worldwide. Founded in Newcastle, UK in 1981 and now publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange (SGE.L), Sage has grown to ~11,000 employees across the UK, US, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, South Africa, and beyond. Flagship products include Sage Accounting, Sage Intacct (cloud financial management), Sage 50, Sage 200, and Sage People (HR & payroll).
The company's mission centres on knocking down the barriers that hold small businesses back, with deep investment in AI-powered automation, real-time insights, and integrated payroll/finance/HR workflows.
Where will I work?
Sage operates a hybrid working model. Most US roles are based out of regional hubs (Atlanta, GA is the largest US office) but offer flexibility to work from home. Sage also offers a "work-away" benefit allowing colleagues to work from any of 40+ countries for up to 10 weeks per year.
What is the Sage team like?
With ~11,000 colleagues globally, Sage is a stable, well-established enterprise rather than a fast-moving startup, but it has invested heavily in modernising culture and tooling. The Sage Foundation gives every colleague 5 paid days a year to volunteer with causes they care about. Talent Marketplace internally connects colleagues with growth opportunities and roadmaps.
Work-Life Balance
Sage offers genuinely generous time off in the US: 21 days of annual leave from day one (which increases with tenure to roughly 31 days), 11 paid US holidays, and 5 paid learning days each year. Combined that is at least 37 paid days off — well above the US tech average. The work-away program also lets you take your laptop overseas for up to 10 weeks a year.
