About Roofr
What is Roofr?
Roofr builds software for roofing contractors, with a stated mission to "be the trusted foundation for roofing professionals to build their success." It began with the parts of a roofing sale that hurt most — aerial roof measurement reports "in as little as 2 hours" and digital proposals — and grew into a full CRM. In Roofr's own words: "We started by building essential sales tools like aerial roof measurements and digital sales proposals. But when our customers asked for a simple, affordable way to manage and scale their entire businesses, we listened. So, we created a CRM that connects these solutions—along with payments, material ordering, and more—into a seamless, powerful platform." The company was started in 2016 by Richard Nelson, a third-generation roofer who "spent his summers on job sites," together with CTO Kevin Redman. Roofr joined Y Combinator in 2017 and has raised $45M from backers including Crosslink Capital, TCV and ABC Supply.
Where will I work?
Remotely. Roofr describes a "Remote-first culture": "Work from wherever you work best. If that happens to be from your couch in your PJs, we don't judge! But we're happy to help you set up your home office." There is no central office. Current openings are posted for Canada alongside contract engineering roles in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil, and the published benefits package covers "US + Canada."
What is the Roofr team like?
Roofr passed its 200th team member in 2025, spread across engineering, product design, customer support, implementation, partnerships, marketing and finance. Its values are stated plainly: "think unconventionally," "utilize positive discontent," "welcome collaboration," "high performance," "be customer obsessed" and "embody resiliency." Roofr describes itself as "already successful, yet still early enough to offer its team significant growth, equity, and the opportunity to make a real impact." A senior frontend engineer's account on the careers page: "Leadership actually cares about you as a person, not just what you ship. Work-life balance isn't just something that gets said in an interview; it's respected day to day."
Work-Life Balance
The distinctive piece here is monthly. "Every team member on Roofr gets a no-strings-attached Friday off each month. We call these 'Laundry Days' but you can call them your unofficial 3-day weekend." Beyond that, time off is flexible rather than accrued — every job ad lists "Flexible time off," and a product support specialist describes "the flexible PTO policy." New joiners start with a rest: "1st week of employment is mandatory PTO! Start your journey with Roofr by decompressing and recharging - we will see you in week 2!" The whole company also stops for "the week between Christmas and New Years," and Roofr publishes a "Generous Parental Leave policy."
