About Rewind
What is Rewind?
Rewind backs up and restores the business data that lives in cloud and SaaS apps. Its mission is "To ensure no business-critical cloud data is ever lost—giving organizations the peace of mind to focus on resilience and growth." Rewind protects data in tools including Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Shopify, BigCommerce, QuickBooks Online, monday.com, Trello, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Miro and Okta, and says more than 25,000 customers in over 100 countries have used its apps. It stores 7.4 petabytes of customer data, 154 billion files, and backs up around 86 terabytes every week. Rewind was founded in Ottawa in 2015, and its co-founder Mike Potter is CEO. It has raised $80 million, is backed by Insight Partners, Inovia, Bessemer and Atlassian Ventures, and in July 2026 H.I.G. Growth Partners announced an investment to fund product work and growth as AI adoption and the move of Atlassian customers to the cloud drive demand for backup. Deloitte named Rewind one of Canada's 50 fastest-growing technology companies in 2023.
Where will I work?
Rewind describes itself as "Remote-first with in-office options". Its current roles are remote within Canada, with "a strong preference for candidates based in Ontario for easier collaboration and occasional in-person meetings at our Ottawa HQ", which sits on Preston Street. The three roles open in September 2026 are a VP of Finance & Accounting, a VP of Engineering and a Senior Technical Support Engineer; the support role includes an on-call rotation that covers weekends and holidays. Rewind also offers a work abroad program.
What is the Rewind team like?
Rewind has about 100 employees. Its six values are Be trustworthy, Be accountable, Customer centric, Be comfortable being uncomfortable, Respect people's time and Give Back, and the time value is explicit: "We strive to achieve success as a team while maintaining harmony between work and life. We empower our teams to work when they are most productive, whenever that may be." The careers page describes a team-first, performance-driven culture that makes time for fun, and says of balance: "While we stay agile for urgent needs, we make sure there's time to recover and value the ability to do so." Mike Potter says he is "a big believer in creating strong teams, hiring great people, and giving them the freedom to do their best work". Hiring runs in up to four rounds: a 30-minute call with the People Team, an hour with your manager, a team or technical session, and, for some roles, a final meeting with the executive team or a presentation.
Work-Life Balance
Every Rewind posting lists "Summer Fridays and office closed during the holiday break in December", along with flexible work hours. Rewind doesn't publish which months Summer Fridays run or whether they are full or half days. On top of that come three weeks of vacation, rising after two years, seven "life leave" days, two "Level Up" days for professional development and a paid volunteer day. Day to day, hours are flexible and the work is remote.
