About Raisin

What is Raisin?

Raisin is a Berlin-based fintech. Its careers page says that, "Founded in 2012, the FinTech connects consumers with banks in the EU, the UK and the US", and that the platform offers savings and investment products. The company is Raisin SE, registered in Berlin, and says it "currently employs more than 800 people from over 75 countries worldwide". Its careers page describes a principle-driven culture built around five statements: "Assume responsibility for results", "Act entrepreneurially and manage risks", "Focus on our customers", "Step up, challenge and commit" and "Inspire and be inspired". The live Greenhouse job board lists 31 openings across areas such as customer service, communications and PR, operations, product, design, engineering, risk, anti-financial crime, partnerships and people analytics, including three working-student roles.

Where will I work?

The headquarters are at Schlesische Strasse 33/34 in Berlin. The careers page adds that "Along with its headquarters in Berlin, Raisin has offices in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Madrid, Manchester, Utah and New York", and that the working language is English. Of the 31 live adverts, 21 are based in Germany (mostly Berlin, some also listing Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich), 5 in the UK (London or Manchester), 4 in the United States (Sandy, Utah and New York) and one is an international talent pool. The careers page lists "Hybrid Working" among its benefits. The German adverts mention home office and a subsidised Deutschland Ticket for the commute, without stating a number of office days. The Utah advert says "We operate on a hybrid model with an expectation of two days per week in the office", and the UK adverts say "We are hybrid working, we are in the office twice a week" with Wednesday as the core office day.

What is the Raisin team like?

The adverts describe a team that "connects more than 75 different nationalities", and say that "it is one of our top priorities to foster an open and caring environment in which everyone feels welcome and comfortable". Roles span corporate functions and teams that serve Raisin Bank (operations, risk controlling and Anti-Financial Crime advisory), as well as customer service roles for German-speaking, Dutch-speaking and UK customers. The careers page says employees are offered "career advancement and skill development" through a personal development budget, promotions, stretch assignments or mentorship. The UK adverts also mention annual retreats and team-building events, and the US adverts list regular team events and a yearly summer and winter party.

Work-Life Balance

The German adverts, which cover all 21 German-based roles, list the same benefit line: "Flexible working hours, home office and 30 vacation days." The four US adverts say "Flexible working hours and up to 28 days PTO accrued from your first month, plus 13 public holidays." The five UK adverts do not use the flexible-hours wording; they state two office days a week with Wednesday as the core day, 28 days plus bank holidays and one day of birthday leave. None of the adverts defines core hours or start and finish times, so the exact flexibility is something to confirm with the hiring team. The vacation numbers above are quoted as stated in the adverts.
