About People Can Fly
What is People Can Fly?
People Can Fly (PCF Group S.A.) is a Polish game developer based in Warsaw. Its adverts say "People Can Fly is one of the leading independent AAA game development studios." and that it was founded in 2002, making its mark on the shooter genre with Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment and Outriders. The adverts name the current projects as Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with Microsoft (the investors page records its premiere on 6 October 2026), Project Echo for KRAFTON, and Lost Rift, "an original IP we are developing in-house under our self-publishing model". PCF Group S.A. is a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. On 6 November 2026 the investors page said the group employs "ponad 400 osób" (English: over 400 people) in studios in Warsaw, Katowice, Newcastle and Montreal and working remotely, mainly in Europe and North America; its publishing company, Cooldown Games, operates in Dublin.
Where will I work?
The registered office is at al. Solidarności 171, 00-877 Warsaw, and the About page calls Warsaw the headquarters. Five of the 13 adverts open on SmartRecruiters on 6 November 2026 are for Warsaw: a Senior AI Designer, a Senior Gameplay Animator, a Principal Character Artist, a Technical UI/UX Designer and an IP Counsel. The other eight are for Montréal, Canada. The careers page labels the Warsaw roles "Remote/Hybrid" and the IP Counsel role "On-site/Hybrid", and says "A lot of our Aviators are working remotely, so practically, you can join PCF from almost every corner of the earth at the moment." Three of the adverts add that the role "is open to candidates only from the game industry who are based in Europe." Days in the office per week are not stated. The Poland benefits block mentions fresh fruit, snacks and beverages for everyone in the office.
What is the People Can Fly team like?
The careers page describes a "Flat organizational set-up, straightforward communication and quick decision making", and says the company tries to "avoid internal competition, politics or unnecessary crunch." The About page lists four values (candor, accountability, teamwork and relentlessness) and describes "a flexible and positive workspace without too much of a formal structure, unnecessary paperwork or hard-and-fast rules". The open roles cover game design (combat AI in Unreal Engine 5 with state machines and behavior trees), animation, character art, technical UI/UX design and legal counsel for the Warsaw Stock Exchange listed group companies. The recruitment process on the careers page has five stages: an application review by the dev team, an interview with the recruitment team, a practical test assignment, a conversation with the dev team and a final conversation with HR before an offer.
Work-Life Balance
All five Warsaw adverts, across game design, animation, art, UI/UX design and legal functions, list "Flexible working hours" among the benefits, and the three adverts that carry separate UK and Poland benefit blocks list it in both. The Poland block's bullets read "Fresh fruit, snacks, and beverages for everyone in the office.", "Flexible working hours." and "Free virtual health and mental wellbeing sessions are included in the plan for members and their dependents." Of the eight Montréal adverts, only the IT Support Manager carries the wording. The careers page adds that the company tries to avoid "unnecessary crunch". No core-hours window, weekly-hours figure or annual-leave number is stated in the adverts or on the careers page, so the flexibility described is flexitime over when the day starts and ends, not a shorter week.
