What is Oura?
Oura says "our mission is to empower people to live healthier, longer." It makes the Oura Ring, a smart ring whose connected app gives people "a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality." Its About page says "who we are starts with where we're from: Finland", and gives "5M+ Rings sold worldwide", "1,200+ Employees across countries and continents", "12+ Years of research and product development" and "50+ PhDs working across an in-house interdisciplinary science team." Its careers page says "Oura was founded in Finland with a singular focus: to improve the way we live our lives."
Where will I work?
Its careers page lists US benefits under "San Francisco and San Diego (Rancho Bernardo)" and a separate Finnish list under "Helsinki and Oulu"; its postings also name an office in Los Angeles and roles in London. Its US postings are of two kinds. Some say "This is a remote US role" and add "We have offices in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles for those who prefer hybrid or office settings". Others are hybrid out of San Francisco, with wording such as "an in-office requirement of three days per week", "work from our SF office 2-3 days a week" and "at least half-time". Its US postings list pay by region, for example "Region 1 $143,650 - $169,000", and name eight states where it is "not considering candidates residing".
What is the Oura team like?
Its values are "Build boldly", "Aim higher", "Earn trust", "Win with sisu", "Every second counts" and "Be human". It says "everyone here at Oura has a ring of their own" and that it is "continually looking to improve employee health." Its postings describe it as a "quickly growing company" that wants its team to "have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office."

Its careers page lists, for its US employees, "20 days of PTO + 13 paid holidays + 8 days of flexible wellness time off", "12 weeks parental leave" and "Flexible working hours and remote working arrangements". That is 41 days off a year before sick leave, which its postings list separately as "Paid sick leave".
