About Orb
What is Orb?
Orb calls itself "the revenue design company". It builds the billing infrastructure software companies need once pricing moves past flat per-seat subscriptions: metering usage, modelling any pricing logic, issuing "granular, accurate & timely invoices", and automating revenue recognition.
The mission, in Orb's words: "Orb is on an ambitious mission to provide every business with the infrastructure to unlock their revenue. Best-in-class businesses find ways to effectively align their monetization to product usage—whether that's through seats, consumption, feature limits, or usage-based tiers." The approach is "developer-first, data infrastructure": "developers love our product's extensibility and intuitive API, product managers become empowered to iterate on pricing and packaging much faster, finance teams get fine-grained reporting."
One thing to know before applying. Orb is now part of Adyen. CEO Alvaro Morales announced on Orb's own blog that "Orb has entered into a definitive agreement to join Adyen", a deal that "closed on July 1, 2026 and Orb is now officially part of Adyen." He adds that "Orb will continue operating as a stand-alone product, there will be no interruption in service." Live job listings frame it as headroom: "joining forces with Adyen expands what we can build and raises the ceiling on the problems we get to solve for customers."
Where will I work?
Orb is hybrid — neither fully office-bound nor fully remote. Every listing says so: "For San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Amsterdam residents, we've built a hybrid work culture where we are in office 3 days/week. For remote roles, we ask you to join us in person 1x per quarter." The careers page echoes it: "We value in-person collaboration and work from our downtown SF office 3 days per week." Amsterdam now appears on the job board alongside San Francisco and New York.
What is the Orb team like?
"Behind our best-in class product is a driven group of builders, innovators, and problem-solvers." Five published values set the tone: customer centricity, "minutes matter", "run with it", attention to detail — "'Billing must be correct' because we sweat the small stuff" — and "go further together". Job ads add that "everyone at Orb has real ownership over their work, direct access to customers, and a voice in how the company grows."
Work-Life Balance
Orb's time-off line is identical on the careers page and in every live listing: "Unlimited PTO + 11 paid holidays + company wide shut down between Christmas and New Years." The company-wide shutdown is the part worth weighing: unlimited policies work best when everyone stops at once.
Parental leave is unusually well specified: "16 weeks 100% paid parental leave with equity vesting. Available to either caregiver, no tenure required." A commuter stipend covers public transport or parking, lunch is catered in the office, and there is an annual learning and development stipend.
