About Mews

What is Mews?

Mews is a hospitality software company. Its About page says "Our founder, Richard Valtr, started Mews in 2012 and was soon joined by our CEO, Matthijs Welle - both bringing the superpower of being former hoteliers." and "Mews was born in Prague with one goal: to make life easier for hoteliers and guests alike." The careers page says Mews powers "delightful guest experiences across the globe in 85+ countries and counting", and the About page timeline records "We kicked off the year with a successful $300M Series D funding round". Wikipedia describes the company as headquartered in Amsterdam, founded in Prague in 2012, and notes that in July 2026 Mews announced a restructuring that reduced its workforce by about 15 percent.

Where will I work?

The privacy policy names the controller as "Mews Systems B.V., a Dutch company, Wibautstraat 137D, Scalehub 2nd floor, 1097DN Amsterdam, the Netherlands", and the Contact page lists offices in the United States (Dallas), Canada (Montreal), the United Kingdom (London), the Czech Republic (Prague), Germany (Munich), Spain (Barcelona) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam), plus remote locations in France, Australia and Switzerland. The board held 24 adverts on 6 November 2026. Counting a multi-country advert once under each country it lists, they cover Spain 10, the United Kingdom 10, Czechia 8, Ireland 8, the United States 7, Sweden 4, the Netherlands 4, France 3, Germany 3, Australia 2 and Italy 1. The careers page calls Mews "a remote-first company" and says "We trust our Mewsers to do their best work either at home or from one of our beautiful global offices", the adverts list "Flexible, hybrid working options", and every new hire is brought to Prague "for three days of learning, connection and culture".

What is the Mews team like?

The adverts are open about the pace: "Mews is an ambitious, high-pressure environment of continuous learning and high standards." They add "High autonomy means high responsibility." and "We’re remote-first, not relationship-free." The careers page says "We treat people like adults." and describes "An environment of exploration". The live roles are mostly commercial (account executives and business development), product and engineering (Product Builder, Staff Engineer, a VP of Product & Engineering), go-to-market systems, finance and accounting, customer success and enablement, and fintech roles: risk and operations managers in the Netherlands and product builders in the Netherlands and Germany. Salary ranges are published in each advert under "Pay Transparency at Mews", for example Spain "€46.000 — €65.000 EUR" for the Analytics Engineer - Finance role.

Work-Life Balance

The careers page states it company-wide: "Unlimited holiday You’re in control of your time off. And yes, people actually take it. To do our best work, we need time to recover. We trust our teams to balance work with rest." Every one of the 24 adverts repeats it under "Global benefits" ("No matter where you’re based, you’ll enjoy:") as "Unlimited paid holiday (yes, really)". The careers page also lists "No meeting Wednesdays Wednesdays are meeting-free at Mews." and monthly protected development time ("EDGE days"). No number of days or public-holiday terms are stated, no core hours are stated, and the same pages are clear that the environment is high-pressure; Glassdoor could not be read, so the work-life reputation is unchecked.
