What is M&G?
M&G is an international savings and investments business, listed on the London Stock Exchange. Its 2025 Annual Report describes the group as "an internationally recognised active asset manager and an established life business, with a well capitalised With-Profits Fund", with "£375.9 billion of assets under management and administration".
Job ads put it more simply: "At M&G, our purpose is to give everyone real confidence to put their money to work. With a heritage dating back more than 175 years, we have a long history of innovation in savings and investments." The careers site says the group is "trusted by 4.2 million retail and 1,000+ institutional clients worldwide" and runs "two distinct operating segments, Asset Management and Life".
Where will I work?
The 2025 Annual Report states: "We have a global presence, with 38 offices across six continents." Live vacancies cluster in Mumbai and Pune, London, Warsaw and Gdansk, UK sites in Edinburgh, Stirling, Bath, Reading and Huddersfield, plus Dublin, Madrid and Luxembourg City.
On working patterns, the careers site says: "This is a flexible and family-friendly business, which is based on trust and communication." Every job ad repeats the same commitment: "We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and offer workplace adjustments."
What is the M&G team like?
"M&G has over 6,000 permanent colleagues across 38 offices globally", according to the 2025 Annual Report. Roles span portfolio management, credit and actuarial work, technology and security, compliance, distribution and customer operations. The culture is framed around "telling it like it is, owning it now and moving it forward together with care and integrity". Work-Life Balance
M&G publishes its UK reward in every job ad. Leave is the headline: "Enjoy 38 days annual leave (including bank holidays), with the opportunity to purchase up to five extra days." On top of that sits a "Time Off When You Need It" policy, which "gives you the flexibility - to balance work and personal commitments."
Family leave is where M&G goes furthest: the Inspiring Families policy gives eligible new parents "26 weeks paid parental leave to care for your new arrival" - the same entitlement whether a child arrives through birth, adoption or surrogacy - and the company says it is "one of just 72 UK employers that offer 26 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents". The policy also provides paid leave "if you, your partner or a surrogate are undergoing fertility treatment", plus paid neonatal leave. Day-to-day support includes an Employee Assistance Programme offering "24/7 support all year round", Mental Health First Aiders and the Nudge financial-wellbeing platform.
