About LottieFiles
What is LottieFiles?
LottieFiles is a motion design platform. Its press page describes it as "a motion design platform that provides designers and developers tools to create and implement lightweight, scalable animations", and the same page explains that "Lottie is a JSON animation file format that enables designers to ship animations on any platform as easily as shipping static assets." The company offers a library of free and premium animations, plugins for popular design tools and collaboration features for handoff between designers and developers. Its homepage says it is "Trusted by 16 million+ designers and developers from over 280,000 companies worldwide" (read on 7 November 2026). TechCrunch reported in January 2021 that "Based in San Francisco and Kuala Lumpur, LottieFiles was founded in 2018", and the press page lists a Series B of $37M in May 2022 and a strategic investment from Webflow Ventures and Figma Ventures in May 2024.
Where will I work?
Remotely. The careers page says "LottieFiles is a distributed team, working remotely from around the world." All three open adverts, hosted on BambooHR, list a fully remote working environment, and none names a city or a country; the Senior Developer Marketer and Head of Growth adverts add a preference for overlapping Asia / Europe hours. The website Terms name Design Barn Inc., 650 California St., San Francisco, as the operator of the site. The welcome kit includes a home-office budget, and the adverts list a co-working space membership, so people can work from home or from a shared space.
What is the LottieFiles team like?
The careers page sets out five cultural themes: Sustained Performance, Open & Candid communication, Expression of Joy & Creativity, "We Lottie You" and Passion for Learning & Sense of Ownership. The hiring-process page says "LottieFiles has a flat organizational structure, meaning there is very few or often no hierarchical barrier between you and the co-founders." Its Meet the team page lists 62 people on 7 November 2026, grouped under Technology, Design, Marketing, Sales, Leadership, Operations & Support, Product and HR & Finance. The three open roles show the mix: a Senior Platform Engineer in the Platform team, which "builds and maintains the core systems that power our products", a Senior Developer Marketer described as "an IC seat, not a brand or campaign role", and a Head of Growth who would build the marketing and growth team. Hiring follows a seven-step process, from a culture interview with the People and Culture Lead through a hiring-manager interview, a project or task assessment, a team interview and reference checks to a final interview with a co-founder and an offer letter.
Work-Life Balance
The careers page, under "Flexible working hours & remote working", says: "We understand and respect time zones, working styles, different peak productive schedules, and that there are early risers and night owls. Hence we follow flexible working hours across the board." Each of the three adverts also lists flexible work hours as a perk, and no page or advert states a core-hours window; the same page says the culture "embraces both concentrated focus hours and work-life balance". On leave, the careers page lists "unlimited time-offs" and says its Flexible Time Off policy "offers paid leave with no set limit", while the adverts list unlimited leave days. No page states a minimum number of leave days or a public-holiday rule.
