About lemon.markets
What is lemon.markets?
lemon.markets is a Berlin fintech that sells brokerage infrastructure through an API. Its job adverts say "lemon.markets is a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform: simple digital access to capital markets through a single API", and state the mission as "We enable anyone to be an investor", aimed at "FinTechs, banks, and wealth managers" that want to offer investment products. The adverts describe it as "part of the dwpbank Group", and tech.eu reported in August 2025 that dwpbank "has acquired Berlin-based fintech lemon.markets, taking full ownership". The imprint shows two companies, lemon.markets GmbH and lemon.markets brokerage GmbH, the latter "supervised by the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin)". LinkedIn lists the company as privately held, founded in 2020, in the Financial Services industry and the 51-200 employee band. The live Ashby board has 12 adverts: Business Development (3), Brokerage Operations (3), Backoffice (2), Engineering (2), Frontoffice (1) and Product (1), including a Backend Engineer, a Product Manager, risk and financial-crime specialists, and an Account Executive.
Where will I work?
The careers page says "lemon.markets is based in a lemon-themed office in the center of Berlin", and the imprint gives the address as Prinzessinnenstraße 19-20, 10969 Berlin. All 12 adverts are in Germany: seven are labelled "Germany (Hybrid)", four "Berlin (Hybrid)" and one "Berlin Office". The set-up is hybrid: "You can work from anywhere in Germany within a hybrid model", and individual contributors "work 4 days or more per month on-site in our Berlin office", with some adverts asking leadership roles for 7 days or more per month on site. The adverts also offer a "Workation": "you can work remotely from anywhere in the EU for up to 10 consecutive days at a time, and up to 60 days per year in total".
What is the lemon.markets team like?
The careers page describes "engineers, compliance experts, product managers, and many more. United by a shared vision that investing should be more accessible to all", and lists five principles: Customers first, Build the future, Keep things simple and transparent, One ambitious team, and Celebrate success, learn from failure. It says "our interview process includes a dedicated principles session". The adverts mention "regular mentorship and stretch opportunities, a clear career development framework with frequent feedback conversations", "polaroids from our lemoneers’ first day", a "monthly new-joiner breakfast" and "a strong discussion culture". The company runs annual offsites, plus "lemon.talks" fireside chats with people from financial services and technology.
Work-Life Balance
All 12 live adverts carry the same benefit: "Flexible working hours: We trust people to choose when they work best and avoid a rigid 9 to 5 mindset. You decide on the rhythm that helps you do your best work, with only shared core hours from 12:00 to 16:00 to support collaboration." The careers page repeats it as "Real flexibility": "Hybrid work built on trust. With shared core hours from 12:00 to 16:00 — the rest is yours to structure." The core window is therefore 12:00 to 16:00, and the wording appears across Business Development, Brokerage Operations, Backoffice, Frontoffice, Engineering and Product. On time off, the careers page says "27 days off (30 from 2027), plus Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve on us", plus remote work from anywhere in the EU for up to 60 days a year.
