What is Iterative?
Iterative.ai (recently rebranded to DataChain, Inc.) builds open-source tools for machine learning — including DVC (Data Version Control), with 12,000+ stars on GitHub — alongside enterprise-grade data infrastructure solutions and a team-collaboration SaaS product called Studio. The mission is "to solve the complexities of managing datasets, ML infrastructure, ML models lifecycle, and other ML & data-centric workflows."
The new DataChain product is "a full agentic data platform" that lets engineers "run distributed Python directly on your files in object storage. Vectorized filter, join, and similarity search." DataChain integrates with Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex as memory + execution infrastructure for AI agents working with multimodal data (sensors, video, images, logs, documents). The platform is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR-ready, with on-prem deployment available.
