About Ironclad
What is Ironclad?
Ironclad is the leading AI contracting platform, founded in 2014 by attorney Jason Boehmig and engineer Cai GoVea to bring contracts into the digital age. The company describes itself as the platform that "transforms agreements into assets," where "contracts move faster, insights surface instantly, and agents push work forward, all with you in control." Its AI-powered contract-lifecycle management (CLM) software unifies the entire contracting process — creation, review, signing, storage and analysis — on one intelligent platform, giving legal and business teams visibility across every deal. The world's most transformative organizations, from Rivian to the World Health Organization and the Associated Press, trust Ironclad, which has now processed over two billion contracts. Ironclad is recognized as a Leader in the Forrester Wave and the Gartner Magic Quadrant for CLM, and is backed by Accel, Y Combinator, Sequoia, BOND and Franklin Templeton.
Where will I work?
Ironclad operates a hybrid model anchored by three offices: its San Francisco headquarters in the Financial District (the company's first office opened in SoMa in 2015), a New York office in the Flatiron district (established 2019), and a London office serving the EMEA market. Most roles are hybrid and based out of one of these hubs, with in-office collaboration days typically Tuesday through Thursday (cadence varies by team, generally two to three days per week). A smaller number of fully remote positions are also available for select roles and locations.
What is the Ironclad team like?
Ironclad is built around four core values: Drive ("always strive to be the best and constantly improve"), Intent ("be thoughtful and have an ownership mentality"), Integrity ("be humble and trustworthy; win the right way"), and Empathy ("care more and put people first"). The team spans engineering, product and design, sales, customer outcomes, finance, marketing and people functions, and the company frames the work as "the opportunity to help build the company you want to work at." Ironclad is Great Place to Work-Certified, with 89% of employees saying it is a great place to work — compared with 57% at a typical U.S. company — and has been named a Fortune Best Place to Work in the Bay Area.
Work-Life Balance
Ironclad offers flexible, "take the time you need, when you need it" paid time off, alongside what it calls "market-leading leave policies," including gender-neutral parental leave and compassionate leave. Wellbeing is supported through monthly stipends and mental-health resources (therapy and coaching via Modern Health), and the company runs regular team events "to connect, recharge, and have fun." The hybrid structure — with most in-office time concentrated on a few mid-week days — leaves room for focused remote work the rest of the week.
