About IONOS
What is IONOS?
IONOS is the web-hosting, domain and cloud brand of IONOS Group SE, a German company registered at Elgendorfer Straße 57 in Montabaur. The group's company page calls itself the "Clear #1 in European web hosting" and says that in 2025 "we grew our total revenue by 5.5% to around EUR 1.316 billion". Its home page counts about 6.91 million customers as of 30 June 2026. The share (ticker IOS) trades on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with an issue date of 8 February 2023, and United Internet held 63.8% on 30 June 2026. The company's own About page says "1&1 was born in 1988". The adverts describe the technology as "sovereign cloud architectures and high-performance GPU clusters to integrated AI automation tools", so expect infrastructure, security, product and commercial roles rather than hosting support alone.
Where will I work?
On 6 November 2026 the IONOS Greenhouse board listed 55 adverts: Berlin 27, Karlsruhe 14, Bucharest 4, Zweibrücken 3, Cebu City 3, Regensburg 2, Gloucester 1 and Philadelphia 1. The group's job-search page also names Spain (Alcobendas and Valencia), which this board does not carry. The German adverts that state the hours line almost all add a "Hybrid working model" (41 of the 42) without saying how many days are in the office. The Bucharest C++ Developer advert describes an engineering centre ("Present in Romania since 2003, we are an Engineering Centre that lives and breathes technology"); the three permanent Bucharest roles list "Flexible work schedule" and "25 vacation days per year", which is different wording from the German adverts. The three Cebu City adverts (HR manager, team lead, product training specialist) support front-line teams (the HR advert says "front-line employees"; the team-lead advert is filed under Customer Service / Customer Management), and the Gloucester advert is a phone, email and live-chat support role.
What is the IONOS team like?
The careers site says "We’re a diverse and international team working across various locations around the world." and that "The way we work together is characterized by flat hierarchies, transparency, open communication and efficient decision making." The group's Jobs & Career page counts "Over 30 locations, over 4,000 employees, one team". The adverts ask for specialists: security engineers, site-reliability and network-reliability engineers, software engineers for storage and software-defined networking, product managers, tax and controlling advisers, marketing and event managers, and seven working-student roles. Some are demanding: the public-sector project manager role says "Highly proficient German at business-negotiation level is essential for this role", five adverts ask for security vetting or clearance (SÜ2), and the site-reliability advert lists "participation in an on-call service rotation". The two Defense Products system-administrator adverts describe DDoS protection of IONOS's own hosting and cloud platforms.
Work-Life Balance
The benefits list in 42 of the 55 adverts says "Flexible working hours through trust-based working hours." (the public-sector project manager advert words it "Hybrid working model, and flexible working hours through trust-based working hours"). The line appears in 12 departments, from marketing (9 adverts), IT security (7) and software development (6) to finance, HR, network administration, product management and project management, including 5 working-student adverts. All 42 are in Germany: Berlin 25, Karlsruhe 14, Regensburg 2 and Zweibrücken 1. The German careers page also lists "Vertrauensarbeitszeit" (English: trust-based working time) among what IONOS offers, next to the company pension scheme and a cycle-to-work scheme (Job-Fahrrad). No core hours, full-time weekly hours or office days are published (one working-student advert says "20 hours per week during term time"), so ask in the interview. Operations roles state an on-call rotation, and the 24/7 customer-operations role in Berlin runs three shifts and does not carry the line. The German adverts give no annual-leave figure; the Bucharest adverts say 25 vacation days per year and the Gloucester advert 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
