About Inventium
What is Inventium?
Inventium is Australia's leading behavioural science consultancy, founded in 2007 by Dr Amantha Imber. The firm describes itself as "the only consultancy of our kind in Australia that uses a scientifically proven approach" — applying the latest findings from psychology, cognitive science, and behavioural science to help organisations innovate, adapt, focus, and thrive. Since 2007, Inventium has equipped over 2.6 million people around the globe with tools to innovate and optimise how they work.
The consultancy operates by the framework "Better Doing, Better Thinking, Better Being" — encompassing workflow optimisation, creative problem-solving, and employee wellbeing. Notable clients include Amazon, Mirvac, Coca-Cola Amatil, Dulux, Coordinare, and Chobani. Inventium has been recognised on the AFR Fast 100 list (Australia's fastest growing companies) twice, and is a B Corp certified organisation — one of around 2,000 globally — recognised on the Best For The World Workers list in 2018 and 2019.
Where will I work?
Inventium is headquartered at 125 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Victoria. The team operates with a high degree of autonomy and remote-friendly flexibility — team members describe the experience as one where "you have the freedom to bring your own individual strengths to the organisation and are encouraged to be your best self. I feel entirely trusted to manage my workload in a way that works for me and the business." Travel to client sites is common across the consulting + training engagements.
What is the Inventium team like?
The team of 8 named members is led by Dr Amantha Imber (Founder & Chief Maker) — a bestselling author of The Creativity Formula, The Innovation Formula, Time Wise, and The Health Habit, and host of the "How I Work" podcast. The team includes Aly Solly (Inventiologist), Neo Aplin (Technologist & Inventiologist), Danny Beiruti (Inventiologist), Hannah O'Connor (Chaos Controller), Jem Rubio (Executive Assistant), Zydrelle Gueco (Chaos Controller), and Evelina Bereni (Associate).
Team members emphasise passion, fast pace, self-management, and value-alignment. Inventium operates without traditional hierarchy: "There is responsibility that comes with the freedom of working outside of a traditional hierarchy. Self-management takes a while to adapt to."
Work-Life Balance
Inventium adopted a permanent four-day work week in 2020, which they call "The Gift of the Fifth" — a reminder that if work gets done in four days, employees receive the gift of time to spend with family, community, or personal pursuits. The six-month trial started the first week of July 2020 with all employees taking Fridays off with no pay reduction. Results from the trial (published on Inventium's own Inventium Lab page): 26% productivity uplift, 12% increase in job satisfaction, 21% increase in energy levels, and 18% reduction in stress levels. Engagement rose to the top 1%. Meeting minimisation through the PAO framework (Purpose, Agenda, Outcomes) was a key enabler.
