About Ignitis Group
What is Ignitis Group?
Ignitis Group is a Lithuanian energy group headquartered in Vilnius. Its website calls it "a leading integrated energy group in the Baltic region", and the About page says the Group comprises "more than 50 companies operating in the Baltic states, Poland and Finland" with "Approximately 4,800 employees from around the world". The four business segments are Green Capacities, Networks (electricity and gas distribution), Customers & Solutions (electricity and gas supply plus an EV charging platform) and Reserve Capacities. The Republic of Lithuania, acting through its Ministry of Finance, owns 74.99% of the parent company, and the shares are listed on Nasdaq Vilnius and the London Stock Exchange. The contacts page gives the parent, AB Ignitis Grupė, company code 301844044, a head office at Laisvės pr. 10 in Vilnius and an establishment date of 28 August 2008; Wikipedia traces the business back to Lietuvos Energija, founded in 1991 and renamed Ignitis Group on 5 September 2019.
Where will I work?
The adverts open on 6 November 2026 sit on the Group's SmartRecruiters board: 104 adverts, 98 in Lithuania (54 in Vilnius, 12 in Kaunas and the rest in regional towns), 5 in Latvia and 1 in Poland (Warsaw). Office roles work to a hybrid model: the careers page promises a "Hybrid work model (3+2) and flexible start of the day" and a "2-weeks workcation in EU countries", although no fetched page explains what the 3+2 split means. The other 63 of the 104 adverts are for network, generation-plant, field and contact-centre teams: electricians, technicians, welders, dispatchers, metering and relay-protection engineers and phone agents, plus two internships and four analyst and safety-management adverts of the generation entity, Ignitis Gamyba. Twelve of those adverts say the work is done in shifts, for example "Dirbant pamainoje pagal slenkantį grafiką" (English: working in shifts on a rolling schedule), so the office benefit line is not written for them.
What is the Ignitis Group team like?
The careers site says the Group covers "nearly 100 different professions" and describes a culture "based on mentoring principles that empower meaningful work in a value-driven environment". The adverts spell out the shared mindsets: "United by purpose. Owning the challenge. Passion for reinvention. Pursuing excellence." The adverts that state the flexible-hours line come from four parts of the Group: the Group shared service centre (data engineering, security architecture, AI, IT testing and analysis, legal, health, safety and environment), Ignitis (power trading, EV charging and virtual power plants), ESO, the electricity and gas distribution network operator (finance, customer and business-client management, data analytics, health and safety, real estate), and Ignitis Renewables (investment and automation roles in Vilnius and Warsaw). The published hiring process starts with an application and a CV review, then a first interview with the recruitment team and an interview with the team leader and an HR representative, with an optional task, personality test and recommendation checks. It ends with an offer, a background check and the employment contract. Staff can also learn through the "Grow Academy", which offers online, live and video courses, and through hackathons and shadowing colleagues.
Work-Life Balance
Flexible hours are stated at Group level and in the adverts. The compensation and benefits page says the Group supports work-life balance by "allowing flexible working hours, so they can plan their days in a way that works best for them", and the careers page lists a "Hybrid work model (3+2) and flexible start of the day". In the adverts, 13 English ones say "A hybrid work model (3+2) and flexible working hours" and 20 Lithuanian ones say "Hibridinį darbo modelį (3+2) ir lankstų darbo laiko grafiką" (English: a hybrid work model (3+2) and a flexible working-time schedule), 33 of the 104 in all, across IT and data, legal, finance, power trading, customer management, engineering and health and safety roles. The flexible-hours wording states no core-hours window and no weekly hours, so this is flexitime over when staff work, not a shorter week, and it is written for the office tier rather than the shift crews (one advert on the board, a business-client consulting team in Vilnius, states fixed hours of 8 to 17). The compensation page adds "three extra days annually for health needs or short-term illness and one day for volunteering activities", and says there is a possibility to work remotely from any EU country for two weeks.
