About Gigaton
What is Gigaton?
Gigaton (formerly Carbon Re) is a London-based climate-AI company, spun out of UCL and the University of Cambridge in 2020. Its self-learning control software uses deep reinforcement learning to simulate, predict and autonomously run complex industrial processes — starting with the cement pyroprocess and expanding into steel, glass and chemicals — cutting fuel costs and carbon emissions at gigaton scale.
Where will I work?
Roles are based in London, hybrid with around three days a week in the office, plus travel to customer plants for some roles.
What is the Gigaton team like?
A ~36-person deep-tech team — "proud nerds, thinkers and doers" — that closed a $26M Series A led by Plural in June 2026 and is scaling fast.
