What is GIANTS Software?
GIANTS Software is a game developer and publisher best known for the Farming Simulator series. Its press boilerplate calls it "a globally operating game developer and publisher headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland" and says it was "Established in 2004". The home page adds that the team are also "a publisher, engine developers, modding enthusiasts, and more", and the technology page presents the GIANTS Engine as "a powerful game engine focused specifically on the simulation genre", built with proprietary technology instead of commercial middleware. German Wikipedia (read on 6 November 2026) says the company was founded in 2004 by the computer scientists Christian Ammann and Stefan Geiger with three employees.
Where will I work?
The imprint gives the address of GIANTS Software GmbH as Wiesenstrasse 19, 8952 Schlieren (Zürich), Switzerland, and the careers page places "our headquarters in Schlieren, Switzerland" there, with management, business developers, level designers, engine programmers and event organizers. The Erlangen office, in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg, is "the core of publishing, marketing & PR activities" and also hosts gameplay programming, sound design, web development, quality assurance and HR. The Brno office (GIANTS Software CZ s.r.o., Šumavská 525/33) is "primarily focused on 3D art": vehicle and character creation, character animation and map assets. On 6 November 2026 the SmartRecruiters board listed three adverts: Game Tester in Brno, Game Tester in Erlangen and Junior 3D Artist - Vehicle specialist in Brno (the Czech adverts are in Brno, the second-largest Czech city, not Prague). The adverts describe a "central office with excellent public transport links" and do not mention remote or hybrid work.
What is the GIANTS Software team like?
The careers page describes the culture as "Open, flexible, nerdy" and lists values such as fairness and respect, quick and purposeful decision-making and an open-door mindset. The adverts add an "open, collaborative atmosphere with flat hierarchies & open doors" in "a young, diverse, successful, and growing company". The Game Tester adverts place the role in a QA team that reports to the QA Lead, tests user-created mods submitted by the player community and investigates player-reported issues. The Brno art team "is focused on the creation of vehicles and agricultural machinery", and the Junior 3D Artist advert asks for hard-surface modelling, a PBR workflow and English at level B2. Applicants send a resume and a cover letter (testers) or a resume and a portfolio or references (3D artist); no interview stages and no salary figures are published.
Work-Life Balance
All three live adverts carry the same line in their "What do we offer?" list: "Work-life Balance: Flexible hours to accommodate effective working styles." It appears in two functions, quality assurance (Game Tester, Brno and Erlangen) and 3D art (Junior 3D Artist, Brno), so Czechia has two adverts with the wording and Germany one. The company's own careers page repeats the same job descriptions, but in its general benefits list the only work-life line is "A healthy work-life balance, with paid vacation, paid sick leave.", with no hours-flexibility wording and no day counts. No core-hours window, weekly hours or remote option is stated, so this is flexitime over when staff work rather than a reduced week. Only three adverts are live, so the wording rests on a small sample.
