About Genomics

What is Genomics?

Its postings describe it as "a science-led transatlantic TechBio combining large-scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare", united by "a single vision to help people live longer healthier lives, using the power of genomics". Its about page says "What started as four scientists with a shared vision has evolved into a global force in genomic medicine", and that its founders, Professors Peter Donnelly and Gil McVean, Dr Gerton Lunter and Dr Chris Spencer, "began this journey in a single office above an Oxford pharmacy". "A decade later, we're 150+ strong across the UK and US, with a world-class scientific team boasting over 60 PhDs". It works through two divisions: Life Sciences, where it partners "with leading pharmaceutical companies to incorporate deep genetic insights into drug research and development", and Health & Wellness, which it calls "the new area of genomic prevention".

Where will I work?

Its careers page says "From our offices in the UK in Oxford, London, Cambridge, and our US office in North Carolina" and lists its Oxford office at "King Charles House" on Park End Street (OX1 1JD) and its London office at "Regent's Wharf" on All Saints Street (N1 9RL). Its postings read 2026-10-14 are hybrid: "Location: Oxford or London (Hybrid)" on most, and "London (2 days a week in office)" for the Finance Associate role. Its board held eleven postings: nine in the UK (Senior Scientist, Scientist, Product Engineer, Product Manager for Data and Analytics, Director of Data Strategy & Partnerships, Finance Associate, a six-month Programme/Project Manager contract, a one-year Legal Counsel contract and an Application Security Engineer) and two scientist roles in the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, which are not shown here.

What is the Genomics team like?

Its careers page says "Our diversity and multinationalism, with our people hailing from over 30 countries, helps to bring together the best minds to harness the power of genomics and transform healthcare and drug discovery", and that "The growth of Genomics is partnered with the personal growth of our people". A software engineer on the page says "Genomics has been a great place to learn, surrounded by supportive colleagues". Its postings promise "Clear Career Path: A straightforward, open progression framework means you'll always know the path to promotion", external courses and "a wide library of L&D materials", and "Vibrant Social Culture: From regular Town Halls and team picnics to organised sports events, our social committee ensures frequent opportunities to connect and celebrate".

Work-Life Balance

Its UK postings say "Holiday: 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus an extra 3-day company-wide shutdown at year-end", which is 25 + 8 + 3 = 36 days a year with the bank holidays of England. They add "Truly Inclusive Time Off: Our 'Bank Your Bank Holiday' program allows you to exchange public holidays for dates that hold personal or cultural significance to you", and "Enhanced Leave: Enhanced paid family leave to support all new parents". The Genomics careers page lists "Flexible working" among its perks and does not state a day count, so the number rests on the postings. Genomics does not publish a shorter working week.
