About Fidelity Canada

What is Fidelity Canada?

Fidelity Investments Canada ULC, or Fidelity Canada, was "Established in 1987" and calls itself "an industry-leading manufacturer of mutual funds and ETFs (exchange-traded funds) sold through advisors and brokerages." Its website calls it "A privately owned company that's committed to performance and investor success" and reports over 2.2 million Canadian investors and around $400 billion in assets under management (as at June 8, 2026). Its products are advised by its investment division, Fidelity Canada Investment Management, and range from domestic, international and global equity and income mutual funds and ETFs to asset allocation strategies. Fidelity Canada Institutional offers investment solutions for institutional investors, and Fidelity Clearing Canada provides execution, clearing, custody and back-office solutions for brokerage firms and portfolio managers. It also runs Investly, a digital investing platform with its own product, software, marketing and client-experience teams.

Where will I work?

Fidelity Canada is headquartered at 483 Bay Street in Toronto, with regional offices in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, and some Toronto roles will move to "the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway" in late 2026. Of the 156 postings on its Workday board in early October 2026, 102 are at the Toronto office, with the rest in Mississauga, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary or across several offices. Arrangements depend on the role, from "100% remote, hybrid, and in office options": a software developer on its agentic AI platform ($101,000–$118,000) works "on a 100% remote schedule", while an operations controls fraud analyst ($79,000–$90,000), a marketing and communications manager ($99,000–$135,000 with target bonus) and a product manager for Investly ($110,000–$129,000 with target bonus) work hybrid schedules. Investment roles include a portfolio engineer ($123,000–$140,000) and an equity research analyst covering 20 to 25 stocks, and a portfolio strategist ($110,000–$130,000) works remotely with some travel to meet advisors. Postings require current work authorization for Canada.

What is the Fidelity Canada team like?

"For over 35 years, our focus on the success and wellbeing of our employees has helped us provide Canadian investors with better financial futures," the careers site says, describing "an environment that puts employees first so they can be their best - both personally and professionally." Employee resource groups and DEI initiatives are active, everyone gets two paid days a year to volunteer, and community work includes fundraising for United Way and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, food bank donations and a long partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada. Learning runs from more than 14,000 on-demand resources, courses, secondments and projects to tuition reimbursement, annual dues for professional designations and monetary awards for completing business-related designations. In the investment division, research analysts get sole coverage of a sector, contact with company management and a path "from analyst to portfolio manager". Postings say Fidelity has been "named one of Canada's Top 100 employers for the last five years".

Work-Life Balance

The standout benefit is parental leave: postings in technology, product, operations and marketing all offer "Parental leave top-up to 100% of your salary for a period of 25 weeks", and the careers site says Fidelity "provides birth parents and adoptive parents with leave to take care of their new additions." The postings do not split the policy between birth and non-birth parents, and parental leave in Canada can be taken by either parent. The careers site also describes "flex hours or part-time, remote working and job-sharing, so that employees can balance their unique work and personal needs", and an Employee Assistance Program offering confidential short-term counselling. Time off is a "Generous time off policy" without a published day count, plus two paid volunteer days a year. Some investment, sales and contract postings do not list the benefits package, and a senior trader posting asks for "such hours as required" to cover its sectors.
