About Expressable

What is Expressable?

Expressable is a virtual speech therapy practice founded in late 2019, on a mission "to expand access to family-led online speech therapy, empowering caregivers to be active participants in their loved one's communication journey." It connects children and adults with licensed speech-language pathologists (and occupational therapists) for one-on-one online care, treating conditions such as stuttering, language delays, articulation, and voice disorders. The practice is "certified by The Joint Commission and backed by 3,000+ 5-star reviews." A core differentiator is its technology: a secure telehealth platform plus a clinician-built AI assistant named Scout that "streamline documentation and administrative tasks—allowing SLPs to spend more meaningful time connecting with clients and delivering high-quality care."

Where will I work?

Expressable is a fully remote, telepractice-only employer — clinicians "provide care from the comfort of your home during times that work for you." All current openings are listed as 100% remote. Clinical roles require an active state license in one of Expressable's "key states" (a list that includes California, Texas, New York, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Virginia, Massachusetts, Colorado and Michigan), and a small number of non-clinical operations roles are also fully remote within specified US time zones.

What is the team like?

SLPs join "an active therapist community of 200+ SLPs nationwide," with "monthly Grand Rounds and specialty clinical groups" for ongoing learning. Therapist testimonials on the careers site describe being "the happiest I've ever been as an SLP" and "a vibrant and collaborative team of SLPs." The company frames its values around access ("everyone should have access"), caregiver involvement ("parents are key to improving outcomes"), and clinician experience ("SLPs deserve a better working experience").

Work-Life Balance

Flexibility is central to the clinician role. Part-time SLPs hold "a non-exempt, W2 hourly position" and "have the flexibility to design a schedule that fits their needs," with a minimum of just 7 hours of availability per week (schedules must include after-3:30pm weekday and/or weekend hours to match family demand). Full-time SLP roles are salaried at 36–40 hours with "generous and flexible PTO policies promoting work-life balance." One clinician sums it up: "Expressable gives me the opportunity to find the work-life balance that is right for me."

Perks and Benefits

Full-time clinicians receive "day-1 health, dental, and vision insurance options for employees and families," a "401(k) with employer match," "12 weeks of company-paid parental leave," generous flexible PTO, and "reimbursement for state license renewal fees." All clinicians get company-provided hardware — "an Apple iMac desktop and two iPads" or a hardware stipend — plus "free in-house ASHA-approved CEUs" and "paid subscriptions for CEUs, SLPNow, and Super Duper." Full-time SLP roles also carry a performance bonus of 21–33% of base salary.
