What is Elvie?
Elvie is a British FemTech pioneer founded by Tania Boler in 2013, with the mission to "empower women through radical female-first technology." The company designs and builds smart technology products and new solutions for women's health — most famously the Elvie Trainer pelvic floor device and the Elvie Pump silent wearable breast pump — and uses its platform to drive taboo-busting conversations about women's bodies and health.
In Elvie's own words: "We know that achieving our mission will not be easy. We are disrupting decades-old industries and taboos. Doing things that have never been done before. The only way we will succeed is to pull together." The culture is described as "progressive... built on high expectations, and high trust."
Where will I work?
Elvie operates a hybrid model from two UK offices and a remote US team. The London office is at 63-66 Hatton Garden (EC1N 8LE); the Bristol office is at 1 Brunswick Square (BS2 8PE); the US team is currently remote out of Manhattan, New York. The hybrid policy is explicit: "you decide the day(s) you'd like to come in. Most teams will come in on set days and there will always be open conversations about expectations between you and your manager." Many roles can be considered on a part-time basis.
What is the Elvie team like?
The team is around 230 people working across product, hardware engineering, software, design, marketing, clinical, and commercial functions. Work-Life Balance
The headline policy is the 9-day working pattern — the whole company gets every other Friday off (called #magicfridays). This is alongside true flexible working hours. UK employees receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays; US employees receive 20 days vacation plus 11 federal holidays. On top, every employee has "extra days of Life Leave for big life events and unexpected day-to-day situations." After 5 and 10 years of service, employees get 10 extra leave days each milestone — the "5=10 leave" benefit.
