About ElectraLink
What is ElectraLink?
ElectraLink has been at the heart of the UK energy market since 1998, when it opened to fulfil "a critical data transfer function for the privatised British energy market." Today, headquartered at 7 Northumberland Street in London with a second office in Nottingham, ElectraLink provides data-first services — "prioritising innovation, security, and insight discovery above all else" — to support the UK's journey to Net Zero. Its business model "keeps costs low for industry, inspires and supports innovation, and facilitates the national journey to Net Zero."
Under CEO Dan Hopkinson the company has accumulated significant industry recognition: ElectraLink Wins Data Vendor of the Year at the British Data Awards 2023, ElectraLink Wins Best Place to Work in Data at the British Data Awards 2024, has been a Best Companies two-star organisation with outstanding engagement in 2023, and has been carbon-neutral since 2022 with Carbon Neutral Britain accreditation. The company is also Disability Confident Committed.
Where will I work?
ElectraLink operates from two offices: London and Nottingham. The careers content notes: "Our flexible and hybrid working policies have given us the freedom to enjoy a wonderful work-life balance and make the most of opportunities to collaborate online and in-person in London or Nottingham for creative planning and problem-solving." Current job listings are tagged with both locations.
What is the ElectraLink team like?
The team is guided by six named values and behaviours: Consider Other People; Strive for Excellence; Embrace Change; Always Be Learning; Be Open and Inclusive; and Take Responsibility and Act with Integrity. The careers page describes a culture of "excellence, trust, respect, and accountability" alongside a Social Committee that organises events year-round across both offices, and a Corporate Social Responsibility team that coordinates fundraisers and volunteering opportunities. Diversity is a strategic priority, captured in an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy aimed at making ElectraLink "market leaders in EDI." The company's Director of Diversity and Engagement, Amelia Heatley, drove the 4DWW adoption.
Work-Life Balance
In June 2023 ElectraLink officially adopted a 4-day work week on the 100-80-100 model — "100 percent of the remuneration for 80 percent of the time for 100 percent productivity." Most employees work Monday to Thursday, with customer-support teams on rotas to ensure five-day availability for time-bound service-level agreements. The schedule was preceded by two pilots (summer 2022 and autumn-Christmas 2022) and a soft launch in April-May 2023 — a deliberate, employee-data-driven adoption.
Perks and Benefits
The careers page enumerates an extensive benefits package: Private Healthcare; Employee Assistance Programme; Private Pension Scheme; Life Insurance; Critical Illness Cover; Bonus Scheme; Electric Vehicle Scheme; Cycle To Work Scheme; Gym Membership; Volunteering Days; Regular Social Events; Professional Development Budget; Season Ticket Loan; Employee Discount Hub; and Menopause and Menstruation Support.
