About EGYM
What is EGYM?
EGYM is a fitness-technology company. Its job adverts describe it as "a global fitness technology leader, providing fitness and health facilities with intelligent workout solutions", and say it "also offers subscription-based corporate fitness- and wellness solutions" built on gym access and EGYM fitness programs. The investor page says EGYM was "Founded in 2010" and announces that "Playlist and EGYM complete merger". The careers page counts 1000 employees and 6 offices, and the company history page says EGYM has "over 1,000 employees in dozens of locations".
Where will I work?
The adverts state that "EGYM's global headquarters are in Munich, Germany, with North American offices in Denver, Colorado", and the German imprint gives the address of EGYM SE as Einsteinstraße 172, 81677 München. Of the 49 live adverts on the Ashby board, 26 are in Munich and 8 in Paris, with the rest in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, German regional sales territories, London, Geneva and a remote role in Austria. The careers FAQ says "Every employee has the possibility to work 40% of the working time from the home office." Individual adverts add detail: the Head of AI Products role has a "hybrid working policy (2 office days)", the Lead Financial Services International role a "hybrid setup (up to 3 home office days per week)", and the London role asks you to "Work 2–3 days per week" in its central London office. The careers page notes that "Benefits depend on country of employment."
What is the EGYM team like?
The careers page describes "60+ nationalities. Non-linear career paths. One team, one mission." and lists the habits the company says it lives by: "Our customers are at center stage. We hold ourselves accountable. We move swiftly and decisively. We take care of each other. We look in the mirror." The adverts invite you to "collaborate with talented professionals from around the world" and promise a mentoring program on a "self-organized mentoring platform" that spans teams and locations. The live board covers Sales and Customer Success (24 adverts), Software Engineering (8), Hardware Engineering (6), Customer Operations (4), Finance and Accounting (2), Marketing (2), Product Management (1) and Legal and Investor Relations (1). The careers page describes the hiring process as an application, a cultural interview, a professional interview, a final interview and an offer, and adds "As a rule, you will receive a response within a week."
Work-Life Balance
Eighteen of the 49 live adverts, across seven departments, list flexible working hours as a benefit. The Senior C++ UI Software Engineer advert in Munich says "Benefit from flexible working hours, home office possibilities and 30 days of vacation per year", the London Customer Support Executive advert says "Benefit from flexible working hours and 26 days of vacation per year", and the Paris Senior SEO/GEO Manager advert says "Enjoy flexible working hours, a hybrid remote policy, 25 days of paid leave plus RTT, and dedicated home office equipment." The wording appears in Germany (15 adverts), the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland (one each). The adverts do not state core hours, a required overlap or a weekly hours figure. The careers page heading reads "We empower you to work your way".
