About Continental
What is Continental?
Continental is a German group headquartered at Continental-Plaza 1 in Hannover; Continental AG is entered in the Register of Companies of Hannover Local Court under HR B 3527. Its company page says: "Founded in 1871, the company generated sales of €19.7 billion in 2025 and currently employs around 76,000 people in 54 countries and markets." The tire division, which most of the Romanian adverts describe, is put at 53,000 to 57,000 people across those adverts (the figure differs from advert to advert), with 16 development sites and 19 or 20 production sites. The share is listed on the regulated market of the German stock exchanges in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover and Stuttgart. Because the group is large, the live board mixes office, engineering, IT and sales roles with plant, workshop and tire-service roles, so this profile follows only the adverts that state flexible working hours and leaves out the plant-floor and skilled-trade ones.
Where will I work?
On 6 November 2026 the Continental SmartRecruiters board listed 558 adverts. The 400 read for this profile sit in Germany (137), Austria (54), Malaysia (46), Romania (35), Thailand (26), Portugal (21), Slovakia (14), India (14), Brazil (12), the Philippines (9), Mexico (8), France (7), Spain (6) and a few other countries. The flexible-hours wording is concentrated in Timișoara, Romania (28 adverts), Hannover, Germany (13), Lousado, Portugal (6) and Bengaluru, India (5), plus one advert each in Sergeičikai, Lithuania, and Wiener Neudorf, Austria, and four per-city postings of one sales advert in Leipzig, Halle, Erfurt and Dresden. Thirteen of the Timișoara adverts also list "Home office", and five of the six Portuguese adverts say "flexible working hours with hybrid work models, giving you the opportunity to occasionally work from home". The careers site says: "In practice, a hybrid working model has become established, i.e. a mix of mobile working - for example in the home office - and on-site presence." Office days per week are not stated. The Timișoara adverts also offer a "Relocation bonus for non-Timisoara Residents".
What is the Continental team like?
The adverts that state flexible hours are for specialists: cloud-platform and cybersecurity engineers, a security-operations specialist, HR-technology owners, customs and purchasing specialists (two Buyer adverts require Slovak or Czech), key account managers, HVAC, civil-works and mechatronics engineers, product managers and pricing analysts, and a handful of student and intern roles in Hannover. English is required, for example "Fluent in English - min. B2" in the Senior Security Operations Specialist advert in Timișoara, and several Timișoara IT roles are regional or global, so expect cross-border teamwork. The careers site describes an online application, an online assessment (which candidates are usually invited to take), a telephone interview and an interview with the specialist department and local HR, and says "The entire application process takes approx. 1-3 month." It names core values of "trust, collaboration, responsibility, and a passion for excellence".
Work-Life Balance
The careers benefits page says: "Part-time employment and flextime models increase the flexibility of our colleagues in terms of working hours, allowing them to coordinate their private and professional lives in the best possible way." The adverts repeat it as an offered benefit. The Timișoara lists include "Flexible working time" (28 adverts across IT, finance, HR, purchasing, sales, engineering, quality and training), the Portuguese adverts offer flexible working hours with hybrid work models, and the Indian adverts list "Opportunities for remote work, flexible hours, or compressed workweeks to achieve better work-life balance". The professional Hannover adverts say: "With flexible working hours, mobile working, and sabbaticals, we will find a working model that suits your individual needs." The German-language adverts carry the same offer, and the Hannover working-student adverts offer "flexible working hours with hybrid working models". No core hours are stated; the professional Hannover adverts describe the position as generally full-time and open to individual part-time arrangements, and the two Hannover working-student adverts state 20 hours per week (one says up to 20). They also state "30 days of paid vacation per year", and the Product Performance Manager and Projektmanager Flächenmanagement adverts add three days off for individual use. The careers site adds that "not all mentioned benefits may be available in all countries".
