About Commerzbank Poland

What is Commerzbank Poland?

Commerzbank Poland is the Polish branch of Commerzbank AG, the German commercial bank, and it is home to the bank's Digital Technology Centre in Łódź. Its own website says the centre develops and implements projects in two areas: "development and management of applications enabling comprehensive digitalization of business processes" and "analytical and programming work in the field of advanced methods of risk and capital management". The legal employer named in the site footer is "Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft Stock Company Branch in Poland", a branch of Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft, whose seat is Kaiserstraße 16 in Frankfurt am Main. Commerzbank's group careers page counts "Around 40,000 colleagues worldwide" and lists "three Digital Technology Centres (DTC) in Prague, Sofia and Łódź". Commerzbank's own history page says the bank was founded on 26 February 1870 as the Commerz- und Disconto-Bank in Hamburg, and its fact sheet lists the share data (ISIN DE000CBK1001). The headcount and founding year in this profile are the group's, because the Łódź centre does not publish figures of its own.

Where will I work?

In Łódź, Poland. The About page says the offices "are located in two places: Wersalska Street 6 (the main office) and Ogrodowa Street 8". The 34 entries on the Breezy job board, read on 6 November 2026, include 29 vacancies in Łódź. The rest are one Amsterdam credit-risk role, two "Contact for the future" talent-pool entries and two job-fair pages. Almost every Łódź advert states the working mode in a "How?" line, for example "Hybrid on Ogrodowa 8 street (Łódź)" or "Remotely or hybrid on Wersalska 6 (Łódź)", and two adverts add "mandatory: once a week work from the office". The vacancies cover IT (Java and full-stack development, Google Cloud and data engineering, test automation), risk modelling, compliance and fraud prevention, and payments and cards business-expert roles. Several titles say "with German", and some adverts ask for English and Polish at B2 level.

What is the Commerzbank Poland team like?

The About page says "Our teams comprise IT specialists, quants, and data analysts." It adds that Commerzbank has 53 clusters and that "In Lodz, we have teams belonging to 20 clusters, and new ones are coming all the time." The careers portal describes the setting as "Within our Agile teams, you'll collaborate with IT specialists, quants, and data analysts" and shows quotes from three chapter leads. The FlexHub adverts describe a group that is "Commerzbank's internal delivery capability", working across the bank without sales targets or utilization pressure and based in Frankfurt, Sofia and Łódź. The fraud-prevention advert says its teams work "in inter-locational and international teamwork in agile methodologies". The adverts are written in English, with Polish or German named as a requirement for some roles.

Work-Life Balance

Flexible working hours are stated as something the bank offers in 27 of the 34 board entries, all of them Łódź vacancies. The adverts list "flexible working hours" next to development plans, life insurance and integration events, and they come from many teams: Risk Models & Calculations, Data & Reporting Apps, Document Lifecycle, Sales Analytics, GFCPP, Payment Transactions and FlexHub among them. The group careers site, hosted in Germany, backs this up at group level: "You have a high degree of flexibility in organizing your working hours." It says you discuss the framework and details with your team and manager and can "easily manage your working time account online". The TalentBank internship page also lists "flexible working hours" for interns. No core-hours window or required overlap is stated in the Polish adverts, and only two of them require one office day a week; the others say hybrid, or remote or hybrid. The number of leave days is not stated.
