About Colorado State University
What is Colorado State University?
Colorado State University (CSU) is a public land-grant university with its main campus in Fort Collins, Colorado, "a presence in every county of Colorado", and "a five-year average enrollment of 33,728 students". Its faculty manual says "The year 1870 thus is considered the University’s founding date". This profile covers the full-time administrative professional (AP) adverts at its Colorado sites, not faculty, hourly, state classified or other salaried adverts, and not the adverts for its research centre's projects at military sites in other states.
Where will I work?
The Workday careers site listed 282 postings on 2026-10-20, 91 of them full-time AP ones, and this page lists the 49 at Colorado sites with a white-collar title. Titles include "Director, TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC)", "Strategic Sourcing Specialist", "Accounts Receivable Systems Accountant", "Reporting Engineer" and "Human Resources Generalist", and an advert states its pay, such as "Salary Range $66,000 - $68,000" for the Accommodation Manager or "Salary Range $85,000-$87,000" for the Director of the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center. Most are in Fort Collins, with others in Boulder, Pueblo and Akron; the tenant marks 13 of the 49 "Eligible for hybrid/on-site work" and three "Fully remote".
What is the Colorado State University team like?
The Leave page says "Paid and unpaid leave are part of your total rewards package and are available to help you recharge, support your family, and maintain your overall well-being and productivity." The Employee Assistance Program says "CSU employees and dependents are offered six free sessions per family member, per issue, per calendar year." The academic privileges page says "CSU is proud to offer academic privileges to help with the cost of tuition for you and your eligible family members."
Work-Life Balance
"Full-time faculty and administrative professionals on 12 month regular or special appointments earn two (2) days of annual leave per month." That is 24 days a year; a nine-month appointment is not covered by that line, and the page's payout and forfeit limits are "up to the maximum of 24 days" and "a 48 day maximum". "The State observes 11 legal holidays per year", and the fiscal year 2026-27 schedule lists 14 closed days, three of them well-being leave: "Discretionary university closures, including well-being leave days and Governor’s holidays, are authorized by the President and are not “legal” holidays." A new administrative professional therefore has 24 days and 11 holidays, 35 total days, before sick leave: "Full-time faculty and administrative professionals on nine (9) or twelve (12) month appointments earn one and one-quarter (1.25) days of sick leave per month."
