What is CharlieHR?
CharlieHR is a London-based HR platform built for small and medium-sized businesses. Founded in 2015, the product helps SMBs manage their people operations end-to-end: holiday and absence tracking, employee records, performance reviews, onboarding, time-off requests, and HR document management — all under one dashboard.
The team writes and shares opinionated content about modern people-ops, including widely-cited blog posts on the 9-day fortnight, four-day work week trials, and flexible-working law in the UK.
Where will I work?
London-based with a remote-friendly culture. The team is small (~50 people) and culture-led.
What is the CharlieHR team like?
A small, distributed UK team — engineers, product, design, customer success, marketing and operations — building HR software for fellow SMBs. Strong emphasis on transparency, autonomy and progressive working norms.
Work-Life Balance
CharlieHR launched its 9-day fortnight in October 2021 and made it permanent. Verbatim from the company's own blog post titled "Rolling out a 9-day fortnight: how it works in real life": "Back in September 2021, we rolled out a trial for our nine-day-fortnight – our teams wouldn't work every other Friday with no change in salary, holiday entitlement or working hours."
