About Arkadium
What is Arkadium?
Arkadium is a New York games studio founded in 2001 with a clear niche: casual games made for adults. Its crosswords, solitaire, mahjong and puzzle titles power the games sections of major publishers — The Washington Post, USA Today and hundreds more — alongside its own destination site, Arkadium.com, and the Arena platform that lets any publisher embed its games catalogue.
Arkadium is profitable, founder-led and describes itself as an "evergreen" business — built for the long term rather than an exit.
Where will I work?
Arkadium's headquarters is in the Flatiron district of New York City, with a studio in Lisbon, Portugal. Flexible remote work options are part of the package, and Summer Fridays adapt by location.
What is the Arkadium team like?
A ~120-person team of game developers, designers, producers and commercial folks. Culture staples include company-wide Game Jams, a "J Force" events team, paid volunteer days and personalised coaching. The founders' mantra is "profit with purpose".
Work-Life Balance
From Arkadium's own careers page: "Summer Fridays: either a shorter workday or a day off (depending on location) so that you can have extra fun in the sun." US JDs describe it as ending work earlier on Fridays between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
