What is Arbor Education?
Arbor makes management information system (MIS) and school management software for UK schools, multi-academy trusts and local authorities. Its mission is "To transform the way schools work for the better", and it starts from a problem every teacher knows: "today over 60% of a school's time is spent on non-teaching tasks." Arbor launched its MIS in 2011 and now offers a full suite that covers finance, timetabling, HR and recruitment, with products including Arbor School MIS, Arbor MAT MIS, Arbor Finance, Arbor Workflows, Arbor AI, SAMpeople and TimeTabler. It says it is "Loved and trusted by over 12,500 schools and 930 Multi-Academy Trusts", and in its own customer research staff report saving more than 117 minutes a week, with 74% agreeing Arbor has improved their working life. Arbor is part of The Key Group. In its own words: "Ultimately, we're here to help make our schools and trusts stress a little less, and focus on what matters most - improving the lives of teachers and outcomes of students everywhere."
Where will I work?
"Our offices are in Leeds, Lincoln, London, India and Belgrade." The London office is at FORA on Great Eastern Street. Most UK roles are remote within the UK: of the 13 UK postings open in September 2026, nine were remote, covering engineering, site reliability, data migrations, CX tooling and sales administration, up to a Director of Platform Operations. The four London roles, in content, product marketing and policy, are hybrid, with "two days per week in the office". What is the Arbor team like?
Arbor describes "a strong, diverse team of experienced specialists — from ex-teachers and school staff, to data experts and Edtech engineers — all passionate about making a lasting difference to the sector." A dedicated wellbeing team runs initiatives such as mindfulness, lunch n learns, manager training and mental health first aid training, and social committees plan team, office and company-wide events. Arbor works with the neurodiversity consultancy Lexxic on training, support and advice for a fair recruitment process, and most interviews run in three steps: a phone screen, then a first and a second stage.
Work-Life Balance
UK staff get "32 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays)": 25 days of annual leave plus seven extra company-wide days given over Easter, summer and Christmas. With England's eight bank holidays, that is 40 days off a year. Arbor says "All of our roles champion flexible working and we are happy to discuss what this means to you", and staff can volunteer with a charity of their choice for a day each year. Wellbeing support includes Calm, Bippit financial wellbeing coaching and a 24/7 virtual GP service.
